i miss you panerai

Post by jtbenson » Wed Feb 18, 2015 12:37 pm

i want to give you my money again but here's what i need from you:

44mm
base sandwich dial
steel 1950s case
quick change system (seriously, why did the 510 not come with this?)
8 days manual wind
power reserve indicator on the back

---OR---

build a 372 in 44mm already

until then, my cd-2 holds all my straps just fine...

Jason, give it a year or two, and I bet you get one of the new OP 8-day movements in the 1950 case. I wonder about the base dial though, as OP hasn't really been keen, it seems, on base dials in the 1950 case (I believe the 372 is the only Luminor in this configuration, although I don't pay too much attention to Panerai anymore and I could be totally wrong about that).

I was all-in with Panerai from around 2004-2011 (always having at least one) but I've long since lost interest. The designs are nice enough, but their after-sales service sucked.

I'm waiting to see what the "372" with a sapphire crystal that is coming next year will look like.

 Hopefully a piece like the ones described in this thread does come out or eventually I can see myself just re-buying a 372 again
