Off to Portugal

Post by snootydog » Fri Jun 04, 2010 1:15 pm

First holiday of the year and this time we are giving Portugal a try, instead of the usual Tenerife. As usual its time to decide on the watch to take. I never take my Speedmaster because i have the tendancy to fall over or walk into walls most nights on holiday....its that foreign beer, lol. Portugal is hot and sunny at the moment so i think it will have to be the newly modded orange Samurai.....yes on the 'Tony the Tiger' strap....ok maybe i will take a more subdued black strap too, lol. I now have the internet phone so i will post a few pics from Portugal. Back in two weeks. Image Image Image

Enjoy your vacation. Nice choice, should hold up against that substandard foreign swill nicely.

If you have the same experience in Portugal as I had when I was there a few years ago you will love it!

If you are staying in Algarve (as you probably are):
Monchique is worth a visit (regions highest mountain) - if you have a rental that is

Albufeira is best left alone, if not there is a seafood resturant on the far left of the beach (facing the sea) it's fantastic! It's called Resturant Tipico Aruina.

Have a nice trip!

Oh, and if you are in Lisboa. There is a wine bar called Nectar in Rua dos Douradores, nr.33. It's pretty close to the castle, the area isn't the best. But the owners are the best hosts I have ever experienced. They are both well educated and had good jobs but decided to follow a dream and start a wine-bar/resturant. Serving great food with local ingredients and really good local wine.

Hope you have fun, Portugal looks like a good time. You could always pick up a Prometheus while there  .
