IWW Refurb
IWW Refurb
I just wanted to take the time to publicly thank Jack over at IWW for his work on my 7S26-0040.
New Illum, polish, & bezel, and an overall check out.
He was up front about what I wanted to do would far exceed the value of the watch, but when I told him it was for sentimental reasons, he took it on. Great work and thanks again.

Seriously though, did you find a hang tag on the watch or in the box?

It's a beautiful world! Gerald.

Re: IWW Refurb
Yep, I got the watch from my Uncle around '97/'98 when I was stationed in Korea, I wore that watch on and off ever since. It's been all over Europe (even a quick movement repair in Tabor CZ Republic). Was flooded once while diving with the same uncle that gave it to me. Back to Seiko for repair. Then Afghanistan 2 times. Back to Seiko for cleaning, calibration, and a new crystal, but they didn't have a new bezel, in 2008, and all over South East Asia. My Uncle passed away a few years ago, and the watch always brings back good memories of Diving and Fishing so I wanted to keep it around.BBK357 wrote:Wo that watch was beat!

Funny for sure.. my co-workers thought it was new. The Illum is great as well. I am glad Jack talked me into not modifying it from original.Axelay2003 wrote:Thanks Trevor, I was beginning to think that I was the only DWC member that had a sense of humor.cali kid wrote:thought the same thing...Axelay2003 wrote:Are you sure that Jack didn't just buy you a new one?

I agree. That looks amazingly nice. Your uncle sounds like he was a great guy. It's cool how this watch will always remind you of the good times.kilo42 wrote:\I am glad Jack talked me into not modifying it from original.
Re: IWW Refurb
Looks great and great story. Jack is awesome. I sent him a watch that had an issue a few years ago. He opened the watch up and found his service mark inside. He called me and told me he was going to warranty service it free based on what he found. I had bought the watch with no idea Jack had serviced it. He knew i bought it used and could have easily charged me two to three hundred or so to service it. Another time i sent him a watch asking for a service and he sent it back after a pressure check saying it did not need a service. Sent him a little cash anyway each time. Great guy.
