You guys are so silly..

Post by Expat » Mon Jul 29, 2013 8:21 am

All this "don't swim with vintage", " be careful with that", "better get a boutique diver for real swimming" I mean come on, its a Rolex Sub. 32 years young. You guys are just silly. I knew it would be fine.

"30ish years of martial arts and I've actually had the honor of training lots of LEO, spec ops and even SEAL team 6 on base, fitness training, not martial arts, but still the coolest thing I've done.

Full on egg head corporate job and I fly quite a bit so I'm really looking forward to adding to my collection of TSA friendly self defense tools. I have amcouple tactical pens, but I want to up the game and get into some custom stuff. Been watch obsessed for a while but this seems more fun.

Thanks for letting me play! "

Now it's time for the obligatory watch going for a dip in the pool shot.

If my 1970's Tudor snowflake can pass I knew your newer sub should have no problems now take it to the beach.

I could be as deep as 6ft underwater and in 4 ft surf.

Not if you use soap. It changes the viscosity of water and allows it to pass right by the gaskets... :puke:

I was caught in a rain shower. Is my dive watch ruined? I had an umbrella, but I think my watch was splashed by a few rain drops.

So I've bought Pam, IWC, and Omega x2 from this AD in the last year.

When he came out he said "don't forget to screw down the crown."

He went on to say its he number 1 reason they see watches with water damage.

I accidentally peed on my IWC AT last week. Are three drops of piss equivalent to 2000m of sea water?

Probably the same folks who bring their automatic in for a battery repair.

I was at a networking event recently and noticed that the lady I was talking to had a brand new Rolex Datejust on. Evidently it was a gift for a work milestone. She had no idea that the crown was supposed to screw down - you'd think someone would give you a heads up when giving a gift like that.

I bought my wife a vintage datejust for Xmas a couple of years ago. I never mentioned the screw down crown to her. She kept bringing it to me to set the time, until I finally asked her why she wasn't doing it. She said that she couldn't figure out how to pull the crown out and didn't want to force it. It had never even occurred to me to mention it. I had become so used to screw down crowns that I forgot that a lot of watches don't have them, particularly quartz watches (and she had a pretty nice Raymond Weil before I bought her the Rollie).

At least she didn't try to force it. If you're reading this honey, I love you!
