Goddammit!
I’ve been saying for awhile how Seiko should make a low-mid range 6105 and they go and do it to the tune of approximately $1350.
It looks like a total home run, too! How in the hell am I going to justify a <$1400 6R35? Something would need flipping and I’m uncertain I would want to do that.

Stupid question re: new 6105 being 42.5mm... will that be 9 to 3 or does it include the guard/crown.?

And not only it’s cheaper, it’s also much better than the LE: slightly smaller and less blingy.
I know.

I hear you. The Turdles are still the best value for money.

Finally they made the Alpinist a field watch by eliminating all that bling.

Ahhh for the days when $1200-$1300 got you an 8L35 in a diver that people compared to Rolex and other major makers.
I like that Seiko is offering these new ones but damn it’s hard to forget what a good deal the sbdx001 was. Even the special edition versions were comparable to the new 6R stuff.
Any word on 6R quality or improvements?

Of the two recent I have, one runs +5/day (very good!) and the other completely died three days after I got it new and is currently with Seiko USA (very bad!).

Every 6R I’ve owned (about 5-6) has been shit
However; being that Seiko puts them in every decently priced watch now it’s hard to turn it down

Same here but there doesn't seem to be much data on the 6r35.

Does each model have both a bracelet and a strap option? Since this is Seiko, I'm assuming not. I don't know why that's so hard.

My SARB has been ok. It started slowing way down a few months ago. I cracked it open and adjusted it and it has stayed consistent since then. Wouldn’t call it a clear win but it’s the longest I’ve kept a watch at 2 years since I really picked up the hobby almost 15 years ago. I’ve found with Seikos you have to randomly tune them up and it would be costly over time if you didn’t feel comfortable popping them open yourself.

6R15’s made within the last 8 months. I don’t have any experience with the 6R35’s.

This time last year, I didn't have any Seiko's.
I have three now and based on what I see here, I'll probably add two or three more by the end of the year.

The hands have a Citizen Ecozilla feel. Am I correct they are bigger?

We were spoiled for years with the SBBN007 10+ years ago. IIRC I paid $400 for mine.
Hopefully the typical 20-25% discount will be available at release date
