That's bad news about the 6309 Mike, they are real nice watches so i hope this doesn't put you off it once its sorted. Both of mine are over 30yrs old and run like a dream. One of mine was serviced by Jack at IWW and is very accurate. Another movement would be cheap and easy to find anyway. Good luck.

@D-Whore, hey bro you can get a 7548 quartz movt. and drop it in there. Watcholic on WUS haas one for sale. Also you can get a dress version of the 6309 offering's and drop one of those movt. in it. There is a shit load of the dress 6309's on ebay for sale. Either way if you just decide to part ways with it then send me a pm. Good luck bro! :fro:

Did you send it back already?

I just noticed it is a ScubaPro. Those are very desireable with the collectors. I don't keep up on the details of these vintage models, but I would think you got a pretty good price even for a non Scuba Pro 6309. Do some research though as there are a ton of fakes and frankens.

EDIT

A second look at the movement and it doesn't look like a 6309 to me as that caliber has a big brass balance wheel. That one might be a 7002. I think I'd just send it back and be done with it.

It isn't a OG Scubapro, since he did state it has a aftermarket dial in it.

I think you are right John, the movement in Mikes watch doesnt appear to be a 6309.
It certainly isnt like the movement in my 6309.

Most def the wrong movement :naughty: , looks like someone bought an aftermarket dial and with extra pieces put together the watch! Iconic case but i would still think you bought it for the 6309 and would tell him to put the right movement in the watch or send funds back!
