At this point I'm thinking it would've been quicker if I walked to Malaysia to pick it up!! It's been in transit for the past 8 days!!

New Prospex divers to be released in 2016...

Post by giosdad » Fri Jan 15, 2016 7:00 am

Arrived this week

I love it. I took it off the bracelet and put it away wrapped in plastic. I think the bracelet is an afterthought the polished edge on the Center Link and end links don't work in this watch IMO. I will reach out to Harold to see if he is working on anything for his BOR. I have his end links for a 6309 but assume they won't work on this case. For now it is a great nato and strap watch.

FYI Watches888 shipped immediately and it was here in days. It hasn't been mentioned I am not sure what the box looks like but they sent it in a generic white Seiko box. Not a prospex box like the MM300 comes in. What is the proper box? Papers look fine.

Barry, you got the right boxes for this. I wouldn't expect the presentation of the 300MM with this one. But for a sub $500 watch I was surprised to see an outer and inner box on this one.

I actually like the bracelet, despite it polished bits. The design cues harken to the Marinemaster bracelet, though not nearly as well executed. Still I wouldn't mind a BOR for this one.

It seems that if you rotate the dial clockwise by 1 mm that the alignment problem would be fixed. Wondering if there is a way to do that.

 I wasn't going to mention the alignment and see if anybody noticed.

I knew I was going to end up with one when I mentioned. It doesn't bother me and when I looked it up prior to arrival, it was mentioned on forumss that dial / chapter alignment issues is nothing new with Seiko.

Can't say I have ever heard of or noticed that with the dozen's of Seiko watches I have owned, though all of the vintage models and mods had been worked on except for one. My Tuna or multitude of MM300's never had that problem.

Thanks for the info Brad. I did not expect MM300 boxes but thought the Prospex line had their own generic boxes.

The NATO (nato, naytoe, N.A.T.O) is a crown and buckle moss that is extremely comfortable and is wearing nicely.

Don't think rotating the dial is the solution, as that would make the date crooked. :) The problem is the chapter ring, I'm not sure why Seiko can't get this right. Someone in QC needs glasses?

Looks to me that rotating the dial would mess up the nicely squared date window. I think the bezel could click one more to the left and would line up with the dial. It's to chapter ring that's messed up. Maybe rotate it or swap in a Dagaz brushed one?

Seems like an issue that should be easy to get right from the start.

Maybe T should work with Art, to supply some leather NATO's for the Toxic store?

T could supply hardware (if available separately from the supplier) or even straps, then Art could work his magic. They would be "limited edition" and could sell well.

Ohhhh I get it, Art just took the hardware from Terry?!

Damn Art, you are a damn tease

I'd already PM'd Terry to order that strap.

My 773 is stuck in Los Angeles customs. Can't wait!

Thinking the 779 will be next. I've been re-lusting for a 16710 Pepsi and think the quality is there to keep me from making a hasty mistake.

If I like the bracelet perhaps I can buy one off one of you guys not planning to use it?
