Sandoz Redfish
Sandoz Redfish
Came across one of these, which I'd never seen before. Super cool looking vintage diver with ubiquitous large case (Scubapro, Nivada, et al), and bezel with red numbers. Unusual wording on dial - "Oltrashock". Not sure what that designates, other than being shock protected.
Anyone have, or may be familiar with this model? Would post pics, but don't want to without seller's permission. Thanks.

Paul Weingarten is a good guy. An editor at the Chicago Tribune (got a tour from him when we did a trade last year). I've bought and sold several times.
Cool Sandoz.

He's got some very cool watches listed.
Re: Sandoz Redfish
Contacted Paul a few weeks ago about this very same watch. Cool piece and appears to be hard to find.

Re: Sandoz Redfish
Very Doxa like on the case in shape and size at 42mm.
Has indices quite similar to the UG Polerouter dive watch as well.
Cool find.

Was not aware of this site...sold him a watch recently....nice to see it available for sale at almost 2x what he paid me. My loss I guess LOL
Re: Sandoz Redfish
Me too. Hooked the Redfish today. One of those watches that you keep coming back to and finally take the plunge. Can't wait for it to get here.demer03 wrote:Paul just hooked me up....

Re: Sandoz Redfish
He seems a good guy and he has some great pieces for sale but at HIGH prices. He recently made an offer on the Aquadive 1939 I have up for sale but I couldn't lower to his price. He has a 1939 on his site at a higher price than he offered me.djr wrote:Was not aware of this site...sold him a watch recently....nice to see it available for sale at almost 2x what he paid me. Like you say - I can't blame him. If he can get cool, rare watches and then sell them on at a profit then good for him.
Re: Sandoz Redfish
Paul is a great guy, but there are collectors and there are dealers. I was able to work a trade/cash deal on the Sandoz, but I very rarely buy from dealers, as the prices are usually unreasonable IMO.mattwool83 wrote:He seems a good guy and he has some great pieces for sale but at HIGH prices. Re: Sandoz Redfish
That's a great looking Sandoz. I tried to do a deal with Paul a couple of years ago but the one I wanted was overpriced and he wouldn't offer a fair price for the one I was selling, but that's his job I guess

Re: Sandoz Redfish
Checked out the site. Another cool vintage Zodiac. Going to have to start lurking on the Bay for someone selling 'this old watch that my husband/father/uncle never wears'.
