Benrus Mil-W-50717. Reserve might be high, but I've never seen one in this shape.

It's the real deal you can see the dimple on the crown and one with a Vietnam era date that's what most collectors want so most sellers think they can ask more than they mite be worth just because of the issue date. It's worth about 2000-2500 the type II are worth a little less 1000-1500 the one with the different dial. The type I all ways go for a little more money.

dumb question.....would someone really pay 3k for that?? whats so special?? I don't know the brand really so maybe thats why I'm naive about it.

Well the type I is said to be issued to special forces take a look what the British Special forces got the Rolex sub and what are they selling for 100,000.00 so the type I you can say they sell for cheap I got the Type II I did get it a lot cheaper than this type I.

Legend has it, these were given to the best of the best in Vietnam and a few years after. CIA, SOG, SF, SEALs, etc. So people go bananas for them.

amazing find of a very cool diver in that condition but never seen them approach $3k... be interesting to see where the auction ends up :think:

Dam went up a little bit and still has not got to the reserve. I have only seen photo's with mint one's wiith boxes and instructions in books and and a web site that had info on these watches that not on the net any more it's rare to find one in this condition I wonder what this guy has the reserve set at.

Final bid was $4110, and didn't top the reserve. Looks like it was relisted.
