Impressed with Seiya

Post by dnslater » Wed Mar 05, 2014 11:44 am

At my door 5 days from placing the order last Friday with Seiya. Spent 24 hours in customs. Still haven't even received an email response from Higuchi. First actual brand new watch in years.

Looks great! While I like Higuchi, he's slow as molasses when it comes to response.

Yup, he's tops. I ordered my Lightning Yellow Rangeman on Friday and it showed up at my office yesterday. Homie ships FAST.

Nice. I bought mine from him too. Very solid transaction.

Seiya is great. I've bought a number of watches from him over the years and even a few straps.

Nick.... how do you like the 15 compared to the 07?

Not going to touch it. Perfect as it is........
justsellbrgs wrote:Nick.... how do you like the 15 compared to the 07?
They are obviously very similar, but the 15 just feels like it has additional refinement in the small details. Definitely worth the extra$$. I was working towards customizing my 007 to look 'like' the 15 but it still wasn't the same. The extra details like the perfectly engraved matte bezel insert, signed crown, silver surrounds on the dial markers, brushed hands and terrific bracelet really put it over the top. 007 seems like more of a rugged tool which looks great on a Nato, while the 15 is the culmination of all of Seiko's knowledge to date into the ultimate quartz professional diver.

Also after flipping a lot of watches, I have slowed down. Pretty much have just been wearing a Tuna at night/weekend and my PO (orange bezel 2500) by day. Wanted to actually buy a new watch for once that I know has never been opened. Several trips planned this year in tropical environments and may do some actual diving. :shh:

Question on Seiya - my understanding is he is more of a "broker" than an AD. Did your warranty card come stamped from an AD in the unlikely event you would need Seiko service? Just curious as I am in the market and am weighing my options.

As a quick aside, I asked Higuchi for a quote and had a response within 24 hours. I'm deciding between Seiya, Ian and Higuchi.

I was under that impression as well. I know Higuchi is an authorized AD.

My warranty card is signed with the case and serial number, dated Feb 28, when I placed the order. Stamped with Japanese writing. No idea what it says. Also included a free battery change card, as they always do.

Pen covering serial.

Yeah he works with a dealer or a few. My Sumo is from him and is filled out properly and stamped.

Damn that's cool. I don't say this often about Gs, but that is freakin' sweet.

Last new watch I bought from Seiya, arrived broken. Super slow shipping too.

Seiya rocks, if you ever have a problem he will take care of any of the warranty issues.

Not for me, big hassle so ended up having the pusher repaired myself...

I just had the watch repaired myself, from a local AD and sold it with full disclosure.
