Sapphire Bezel

Post by dichro chrono » Sun Jun 06, 2010 8:23 pm

Hey guys, just wondering if there's any sub $1K watches with sapphire bezels... other than the new LM1.

LM-7 uses a sapphire bezel insert! :oops:LM1 makes it as an accessory for 130 bones! :raised:

There's actually a sapphire bezel option for the new LM1...

I know Rolex has some watches with this feature, but I'm not too sure of any other manufacturers using it yet. Seems like it'd be stunning in person!

If you get it on Rubber and non GMT the new Zixen DSR 1000 is around 1k, and a Sapphire bezel is an option.

Nice. Just noticed the Nitrox II has a sapphire insert too. I like this trend... hope to see it offered on more models.

For the 6 months or so that I owned an IWC Aquatimer, I can attest that a sapphire insert is certainly cool.

Unfortunately, Rolex uses ceramic, not sapphire, for their new bezel inserts. Not really to my taste on a watch meant to be a luxury tool watch (though it wouldn't preclude me from purchasing one).

IWC and Blancpain are famous for using sapphire bezels. Other than O7, those are the only brands I know of off the top of my head. But I'm sure there are plenty more I'm missing.

Thanks Matt! Turns out Rolex's sapphire bezel is inlaid gemstones, and not optical sapphire like I'd assumed. The Blancpain FF looks great with the sapphire bezel, the IWC offerings too, unfortunately they're WAY out of my league... maybe.. someday.

Guess I'll wait for some more info to surface about the Zixen Nitrox II!

Man... that IWC is HOT! The 2nd pic is awe inspiring.

The Corvus is sweet too.. thanks for the suggestion. I always forget about them. If the dims were a little different I'd buy ASAP.

The sapphire bezel Corvus is $1495 (or thereabouts) as an introductory price right now.
