Re: RESCO: Another budding US watch company
Yeah, seen it. I just wish the movement is true to the name; they could use vintage hamilton movements instead of vostok (or whichever is inside..) to justify the huge price..
Re: RESCO: Another budding US watch company
Looks to be a Slava 2427 movement in these. Price is WAY out of line for the specs IMHO using a Russian Slava movement in a watch from an unknown company.
Movement
RW-2427 Automatic Self Winding
27 Jewels
Integrated shock resistance system
Glucydur Balance
Three Arm Integrated shock protection
40+ hour power reserve
Twin Barrel Mainspring
18,000 beats per hour

Re: RESCO: Another budding US watch company
just my opinion, one thing to consider is that according to what I've read about the watch is that the case is machined by CNC from billet, no stampings of any kind on the watch. This is a much more expensive and higher quality way to manufacture a case. The tolerances are better etc... I think alot not all of the boutique watches have cases that use either completely stamped cases or a combination of stamped and machined to speed up production and keep costs down.

Yes.

Welcome to January Chris.

Cool looking and like the idea, but too pricey for a new brand.

Who does this guy think he is with these prices, Michael Kobold?

I like the look, but his Kobold-inspired pricing structure is poopy.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Re: RESCO: Another budding US watch company
Someone buy one of these and flip it to me for 50% off!
I think they are cool, I just can't afford one.
BTW the owner is the real deal (BUD/S instructor). Don't know how he has the time..

I think it's probably more like one or two guys in each of the above organizations bought one, and now their agency name is listed. I bet money that if I order one, and tell him I'm with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, then our agency will be added to the list. NO WAY those are gonna be issue items. I bet they don't even have a NSN (National Stock Number) in order to be officially procured.

Re: RESCO: Another budding US watch company
There is no way the NYPD gave out watches without me getting my hands on one! At least he didn't list NYPD SWAT like Kobold does. We don't have SWAT, we have Emergency Services.DMB wrote:

Looks decent. Kinda pricey though. Will have to wait and see once they hit the streets.

Re: RESCO: Another budding US watch company
I already slammed this guy on WUS for name dropping and also for using a Russian NOS movement. For the price it should be a new mvt. and a american product if called a Patriot. Plus the watch is made by Lumtec with all their feature for a stupid price. He said he gave a discount to all of the miltary guys to buy one, they aren,t issued to anyone. This dude just pissed me off from the start of his company with all the name dropping. Just because a BUDS instructer designed it doesn,t mean it is worth a crap. But since Lumtec built it I think it is going to be nice watch, just overpriced. Hell for the price it should have a bracelet too which would be a requirement IMO if I used it in the military.

Re: RESCO: Another budding US watch company
I like the look of the watch and wish the guy luck. I'm not interested for $1200 but will check the sales forums and may pick up a gently flipped one. The watch is a nice size and pretty clean design with an interesting movement choice. The name dropping is'nt so offensive since the dude is the real deal, not a Tacticool commando. If the US Army can march on Red Square a Russian movement in the Patriot does'nt seem as far fetched.
