Re: Favorite car you used to own?
I would have to say my 1979 MGB (purchased new) loved and hated that car. Great fun to drive just a PIA as far as repairs go, every weekend was spent fixing something. Got stranded three times, twice I was able to repair the car (next day) and once had to have it towed to a garage and spend the night in a motel. Kind of hard to trouble shoot in a blizzard.

My first car was a '67 MGB. I bought in '71. Great car and very easy to work on. Twin SU carbs meant I could take one down on the kitchen table and use the second to follow for reassembly.

Re: Favorite car you used to own?
I don't have any pics handy but if I had to pick 1 car it'd be a 2004 Audi A4 Avant. The nomenclature of the period escapes me but it had the various factory sport doodads and lighting upgrades. Just a solid, well built car. It obviously had a small power plant, but power delivery was very satisfying at lower revs, where you'd want it around town.
I replaced it with a 2008 5-series which was quicker and, if I'm honest, a bit more of a driver's car. Still, the Audi just felt very stealthy, planted, and confidence inspiring. Best of all, my wife loved it.

My favorite of all time:
My anthracite, 1993.5 Toyota Supra. Modified to a single t-66 sized turbo, full fuEL, AEM, etc etc. beautiful HRE wheels, mid 500s to the wheels street tune, 800+ on race fuel.
Stolen and stripped to the frame. R.I.P.

I dunno about that. The E34 is a pretty bad ass classic. Arguably some say the E34 was the pinnacle of the 5er.marchone wrote:BMW peaked with the E39.

Wish I'd never sold this in 2002 - Acura Integra Type R. I had a black one. Good luck finding a non-modded, non-tracked one. If I would have kept it, and not moded or raced it, I could have sold it for more than I bought it for. Great power to weight ratio, incredibly fun to rev. Stupid sell decision. Not my pic.

I test drove one of those, back when they were new. Short form version is the passenger seat ended up full of pee because the salesman pissed me off. It was a good day.Expat wrote:I had one of these, about 5 years old, in the 90s. First year M3.
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.
