Shipping six watches in the morning

Post by deepcdvr » Thu Apr 29, 2010 1:29 pm

Wow.. it's been an eventful week and I haven't even been home!

Just got back and removed 6 watches from one of my watch boxes and will be shipping them out in the morning. Two are going to DWC'ers, 4 aren't. I haven't received a dime yet..

All of this for a Kobold.

Kind of nice having a 'light' watch box. Little strange, actually.... Maybe I should keep going? Dump another half dozen? Anybody ever had a huge fire sale just to 'lighten the load'?

I got rid of 4 semi heavy hitters, and will probably flip a few more in the next year. I'd like to be at around 4 total.

Do it, Paul, do it! Keep going... get down to the U1, the Doxa, a Kobold and then get a Sub. Imagine having that rotation...

I am loving the "lightness" of a small collection - the Sub and two quartz beaters.

This has always been my mentality, and I think many have experienced the freedom that comes with it! It's nice to not have a million watches to choose from. When I have too many, I always get this feeling that I'm wasting money by having so many watches just sitting, unused, at home. Might as well put that cash to work (that is, if there is something more expensive that you'd like - if there isn't, there's really no reason to liquidate).

:D

I'm with Jason - next up, ROLEX! :koolaid:

I've lightened the load by about 80 pieces down to around 25 but thats still too many! I would like to keep 10 heavy hitters and that would be perfect! Cant wait to see the Kobold, think it's a perfect watch for you Paul, after it goes to kent parks!! Thinking about sending mine down there beecause i've got the older tritium hands and they just dont glow very brite, stay about the same all night but just not the kickass superluminova look!

For the record, I think selling down for one big one is good. Quality is it's own reward. I notice that every time I look at my UTS 500m.

And Paul, you should have $$ tomorrow. Paid for Priority Mail and everything. ;) TSAR!!!

Mark

Welcome home Paul and congratulations on the Kobold. I'm one of the lucky one to be able to help lighten your watch box. I'm getting the Debaufre GMT and I can hardly wait to get that beauty on my wrist. Payment will be there Friday before 3pm. Thanks Paul for the deal and the great communication.

Lightness is good. Have 4 decent pieces in the collection. Nothing super special or anything but just enough to not look dorky at a GTG

It's a great feeling to be "light" in the watch box. My goal:

1. Heuer Calculator
2. Rolex GMT II
3. DOXA Searambler
4. Sinn 556 or Rolex Explorer
5. PO or Sub
6. Citizen Eco Drive Chrono

* G-Shock Mudman in the SWAT Bag

And here I was sectretly hoping you were going to "lighten" the Searambler...

I thought I'd miss all the micro brands I'd collected, but I am just as content with less, if a WIS can ever BE content.

I will be offering up my Pam on here soon. Giving first dibs to Polaco23 , since in every second post he cries Poverty :shifty:

So if your keen on a second hand bargain, ( it has had a hard time, but was loved.) then maybe that Pam is not that far away, if he does not want it. Dont know what i am going to let it go for, but will be a small part of the new price!

This reminds me a little of that Sesame Street game.
One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

Did you guess which thing was not like the others?
Did you guess which thing just doesn't belong?
If you guessed this one is not like the others,
Then you're absolutely...right!
Can I see a pic of #6? (please)
Chris
