Red Wing Iron Rangers - Good Deal!

Post by sfglenrock » Mon Jan 21, 2013 1:56 pm

This may be my first post on the Luxury and Lifestyle forum.

After all the boot talk, I went to a Red Wing store to see these things in person. Really liked the Iron Rangers, so I tried on my size and wore them for a little bit. About a half size down was what I needed.

I then searched the web a bit and found that Shoebuys.com had Red Wings and a great promo code. So I picked out the $289 Amber Iron Rangers and after the promo (bday), paid $217 with free shipping.

Seemed like too good a deal to pass up, so they're on the way. Figured I would pass on the deal. No idea how long it runs.

It's a slippery slope from here. I have my third pair on the way.

Yup. I'm waiting for a backordered pair of Red Wings from J. Crew at the moment as well as two pairs of Allen Edmonds boots.

Congrats Steve. I love my Amber Iron Rangers so much I might pick up a pair some day in black. (Though I like the black moc toe I saw in one of Chris' posts)

I've been blathering about shoebuy.com forever. They routinely have 20% and have a good stock of RWs in a lot of sizes :poke:

They had 30% off a few times during Christmas and New Years Image

They usually have EE sizes in the Rangers which they don't now.

Any of you ladies own the Frye Phillip works boots. They look awesome on photo and a style I could wear the office.

Remember to size down Brice. I wear a 13 sneaker but a 12 Red Wing.

I'd bet you'd be a 12 in Red Wings. You also need to figure theses were designed, most likely, for people to have 2-3 pairs on socks on since they were originally in mines. I'm a 9 normally, 8 in the IRs were tight (width wise) but after a day of wear, they are the BEST casual boots I've owned (besides my Rocky hunting boots).

I'm also a 13 in everything else but a 12 fits perfectly in Red Wings.

Isn't that funny, I have a pair of AE Dalton's coming in (size exchange) and a pair of fifth street ready to go out in their maiden voyage. Both from the seconds sale.
