These are two of my favorite G-Shocks from the mid to late nineties, and frankly, I'm surprised that I was able to find them in NM condition because they're not particularly sought after or collectible (okay, the Riseman might be, but the G-Cool series never really hit the big time).
The G-Cool line was released during Milan's Fashion Week in '96 and was supposed to mark a new era of fashionable, trendy G-Shocks. Whether or not that's what you see when you look at it's decidedly un-G-Shock-like visage is debatable, but I liked this particular model because of its databank capabilities, which no other ruggedized watch had up until that point. That's right, in addition to the usual complement of features one would expect to find (alarm, stopwatch, etc), the G-Cool GT-000 could also store 100 phone numbers, as well as information like blood type, CC numbers and the like. It also had a scheduling feature that could be set for any date in the future. Information would scroll across the upper dot-matrix display, which, back in the mid-nineties, was freakin' awesome.
The Riseman is sweet simply because it's the first dual sensor G-Shock (a thermo G preceded it) and because it looks batshit crazy. Really. If the Predator wore a G-Shock, this would be it. I wasn't fortunate enough to own back in the day, but I always admired it, and hence, I've always kept one eye peeled for the moment that arrived when I spied the one pictured above. Unfortunately, because of its leather and textile strap, most existing examples look like ass, save for certain LE models. This is precisely why I pulled the trigger when I saw this one for sale; the odds of finding another blue version (my favorite colorway for the 9100) are next to nil.
Yes, I need help:

Adam
