Congrats! The new PO and SMP are definitely growing on me, after initially being turned off by the hype surrounding the new 45mm chrono, its thickness and new prices.

I am going to kill them. I am still waiting.jimyritz wrote:==========matt.wu wrote:Did you guys both buy from Rob?

I bought a cheap watch from a crazy man
Floating down canal
It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now
Now you may be thinking that I was had
But this watch is never wrong

Bad ass.

I just can't imagine spending over $7000 for an omega. If I were to spend that much, might go for a submariner or panerai.

Just to let u know...I didn't spend 7K or 6K....But you're right hard to think about spending that on a company where you could buy a nicely used PO for $2200 and or get 20-30% off retail...Those days might be over.
Any of the companies that have introduced watches w/in-house movements
(Breitling, DJean Richard, etc) are all over 7K....
How about the Sinn EZM10 at $5500+ (not on bracelet)and not a pure in-house....
That's going to be Omega's challenge...can they run w/Rolex because that is who they want to be...I'm not sure they can, but who knows....
The new line of PO's, the PO Chrono, the Aqua Terra GMT seem to be high quality pieces...

The new PO is a great watch. Nice pickup. The price is a little steep but omega raised the bar with this one.
Re: Omega Planet Ocean-- 8500
Congrats Mike! I ended up sticking with my 2201.50 w/ the 2500D but I love the new 8500's. Sweet watch for sure.
