Flightmaster a couple of questions

Post by andya » Tue Dec 13, 2011 10:12 am

Hey chaps,

I am meetint a guy in the morning with a view of buying his 911 can anyone tell me should the crystal have the Omega logo on it? Also it has had two of the pushers that are painted changed to plain pushers is this ok or not good? If anyone can give me any information on anything I need to look at or check that would be great as it is a whack of money I will be shelling out

cheers

Andy

I believe they have a mineral crystal, so no Omega logo. I do not think it's good if the pusher was changed for a "plain pusher" but you can take that into account when you do your negotiations.

If you have any doubts just walk away from the deal. Prices are usually in the 3k range.
You can always negotiate downwards as cesar mentioned

Thanks guys I am not really having doubts but there is a nagging feeling at the back of my mind I didn't realise that the pushers had been changed to plain and it does bother me somewhat I think they were done in Switzerland but there is no paperwork to back this up so I am just not sure as it is a lot of money!!!

Check eBay for pusher prices. They aren't too expensive, but then you need to pay a watchmaker to install them.

I think I am going to walk away from it as I like watches to be all original and the pusher does bother me as why wouldn't you keep the originals.

There was a period a while back when the coloured pushers were unavailable anywhere and if I remember correctly, even Omega used plain pushers on refurbs. Omega did however act on the demand for the coloured ones and re-manufactured them for stock purposes...
This post is worth every penny you paid for it...
