So what is your wrist time leader lately.....

Post by SCM64 » Sat Feb 20, 2010 7:27 pm

Well, it's been a few months in the making, but if I am being honest, I wear the Trimix more than anything, although I do switch at least once a day, if not more.

I certainly rave about the watch, no surprise there...but:

Is it my favorite? No
Is it the most comfortable? No
Is it the easiest to tell the time quickly? No
Is it good to wear with anything? No

So what's up? How/Why did this displace the U1 as Wrist Time Champ?

Is it accurate? Yes, very.
Is it easy to read, day or night? Yes, lume kicks ass
Is it perfect on Zulu? Yes
Is it a badass, black PVD monster watch? Yes
Does is have a pirate skull on the face? Yes

Some of it might be that the U1 was the leader for a long time, so the newness of the Trimix has not worn off, but I have had it long enough that that reason/excuse is on it's last legs. I certainly still hold the U1 up as my favorite watch, and the Trimix would go if need be before the U1. The wrist time lead is also a slim one, but it is the leader.

So kudos to the Trimix for maybe having a little mojo (kinda like Doxa) that just gives it a certain something that is hard to pin down.

Good one Steven. I'd have guessed the U1  I switch more regularly now than I did a few months ago, not sure why. But consistently I grab my Doxa 5000T Pro :fro:

Still gauging the new U1. It has potential, but I don't think it is going to replace this one ;

* For example, my U1 break-in period was interrupted this weekend by a funeral.

Nearly two years later, and this one still makes it on my wrist 5+ days a week. It just works in so many situations. Other pieces grab the attention for a while, but this one has staying power.

Getting ready for fishing Tournament time here in the South, got a Sheaphead tournament this coming weekend, and in the next few months the Kings will be coming in. I will and have been putting a lot of water time on this:
