As far as a collaborative project they just don't work well. Look at the abortion EOT's dive watch forum made with the C3.
Minimum purchase order is 100 Pieces. Plus I think you have to make a good impression on the Seiko reps before it's a done deal.

They talk with you? i couldn't even get an email reply from them.
Maybe it was when i asked for Spring Drive movements, which most likely gave them all a good laugh, but i cant get a reply out of them at all.

u can get some seiko movements from 3rd party suppliers in Hongkong , but its been said thse r made in seiko factories outside of japan, but we already know that dont we. i like where this project is goin. i think the key is to keep price affordable and the person who is facilitating should make some $$ outta it, just as an incentive so we can have a DWC2,3 4 -99!!

No Todd, I heard it through the grapevine from some people who have successfully ordered the 6R15 movement.

I think every morning they have a roll around on the floor at the expense of Todd San.
I should never have asked for their Spring Drive movements!

I like the idea of vintage, especially something like the 6105.

I'm thinkin' we can get Brian to machine everything off the clock, for free, so that'll save big money obviously.
We get our HOT femme Mod Squad (or Derek in drag?) to shamelessly flirt with gray Seiko re-sellers for a killer deal.
Diaboliq obviously steps up and offers killer 5$ straps...
We just need crystals and someone to case em up and we'll bring these puppies in for 300$ maybe? :salute:

How about a Seiko 6309 type case?

Something original might be nicer.
Or wouldn't we be doing the same as the rest. Copying something and calling it a Homage.

Could always do a case like you say as a base, then really change things with original ideas

Well the RGM Company and the Ultimate Dive Watch Forum came up with the Sea3 and not sure it was ever much more than a curiosity what with its dual bezel. Of course the one I have has a custom bezel but the overall result seems a bit commiteeish(?)

So could be interested in watching this progress but not sure if there is a need for what may be another niche watch.

With so many guys on here having varied tastes but a very clear idea of what they like in a watch. It would be very hard to please even the majority and just trying to appease people to get a majority could stifle the design but what the hell I will watch with interest.

For my 2 cents it definitely should have a vintage them

Cushion case (curved ovalish not square)
no smaller than 44mm
No larger then 44mm
domed Mineral Xtal
Dial no smaller than 35mm diameter
Recessed lugs under the case
Hour markers not Numbers
Silvered or Chrome hands and markers
Sword hands
Rubber strap

Well I did say we have a lot of people who really know what they like in a watch :snooty:

just wanted to give my option. If you guys (saying you guys since im not going to afford this one) want a vintage style case, and something different. i can always send my Majestime to brad and see if his machinist can replicate that case. Ive never seen another one like it. Has a sweet 6 o'clock crown, and the bezel doesnt click, so a metal bezel could be machined really easily and for cheap.

Just a thought.

With all those watches, and that Nissan 370Z in your drive from one photo, i think your holding out on us!
bet you could bank roll the whole thing.

And guys, i love vintage to work on, but i still cringe when i see my hair in photo's from the 80's, and really dont want to go back there!
So perhaps an original design? Something from now, my good hair years.

I am sure between the collective, a design could come, perhaps blending styles, a little old, a little new

There are a lot of cool ideas floated out in this thread so far. :headbang:

I will be starting a new thread soon with an initial starting point and some info that has been gathered on the feasibility of the project. :bananastoner:

We'd need a unique caseback, maybe something interactive...like the nudie pen. When you flip it over she strips. If the gals want an optional "nudie guy" caseback, I suppose that could be accomodated. Of course, if any of you guys want one, we will not judge, but the list will be public, so think long and hard about whether you want to buy a naked man watch!

The idea has taken a back seat to "real-world" stuff for a bit. It's still a go though, we will have a new thread started by the end of the weekend. :bananastoner:
