Help needed on a price...Omega content

Post by hobbit712 » Mon Feb 10, 2025 4:53 pm

I have a good friend whose father recently passed away. The dad was a WIS apparently and has a decent size collection of watches my buddy now needs get rid of.

He has an Omega Seamaster quartz pro model. Reference number 2541.80. I have not seen the watch and his mother was only able to send me an okay picture. He also has the box and papers. I asked him to grade it and he seems to think it's an 8.5 out of 10. He has no clue on the price and neither do I. Supposedly somebody offered him $1,100 but the dad paid $1,300 for 10 years ago. I'm thinking the watch is worth more than $1,100 but I have no idea on price as I'm not an Omega expert by any means.

Any Omega experts willing to give me a ballpark figure? I checked watchrecon and I found a couple closer to $2000 to $2,500. Is that realistic? Any help would be appreciated guys.

Hard to tell from that photo if it’s the wave dial Bond style. If not, it might be fake or an older model I’m unaware of.

I have a friend who has her ex-husband’s and it’s the same quartz Bond style. I told her $1000-1400 as it needs a service. Keep in mind asking price and what they actually sell for are often some distance apart.

Impossible to tell from that pic if it’s legit. Upper end of the price range would be $2.25k… if you can verify it’s legit then it’s a steal at $1.1k. Anything between that and $1.4K is a good price. Could factor in a full service for $600 and be like new and still in the equity.

$2kish including a somewhat recent service is a solid price. I love quartz.

As an owner of a cardigan and a stylish living room rug, 2k is tops… I’d be happy with $1750 if it’s legit.

With box and papers (complete kit with hang tag, cards, manual, all links), unpolished and in running condition: $2k. It is hard to find complete kits. I was looking for one just before I bought my X33 and without kits $1.4-$1.6k. I have seen them lower than $1.4 without bracelet or with and well used (what I was looking for…but never found). Hope it all works out. They are great watches.

Didn’t think it was possible to take low resolution photos anymore. That’s impressive

Still not the greatest pictures. I assume his mom took them. The dad was the original owner. Purchased about 10 years ago. I think its the Bond issue but one pic looks black.

His pics are all low res even with his iPhone 11 or whatever… I think it’s chicken grease on the lens though.

True. His photos are still at the top of the worst.

That's the correct model. Blue 2541. 42mm quartz.
