Also would be work doing a nationwide search on AutoTrader.com to see what you find around the country. From what I’ve heard some dealers have 8-14 month inventory sitting on the lot, so it might worth finding those dealers and flying in to pick up and drive home. Could be huge savings.BacoNoir wrote:My brother in law is in the car loan business and is running VINs to get me the dealer price tables.hoppyjr wrote:Tons of truck inventory that’s been sitting for several months and many Ford dealerships. Yep. Been doing that for a few weeks now. Gosh I hope so. Was looking at used VW GTI prices yesterday and they still seem high. Not buying...just looking...but still discouraging.hoppyjr wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 5:34 pmTons of truck inventory that’s been sitting for several months and many Ford dealerships. VW’s, and specifically GTI’s really hold their value. I drove my last GTI for two years and I got back everything I paid for it new -$500. I traded in a Golf TDI on the GTI and got everything back I paid for that two years prior also. Even our recent Tiguan got us an impressive sell-off to Carvana.HapaHapa wrote:Gosh I hope so. I traded my GTI for my Tesla in November. GTI prices are nuts. It's crazy how they hold value.Wario406 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 2:54 pmVW’s, and specifically GTI’s really hold their value. Just got home with our new truck. It’s a 2022 F150 Lariat. Didn’t come with a paper users manual but there’s an electronic one you can access from the main screen in the truck. I need to figure out where the jack and spare are, how to adjust the adaptive cruise control, and adjust what data is shown on the screens. It drove really nice on the 3 1/2 hr drive home. We went with the 3.5L twin turbo engine and it got 22.5 mpg on the interstate but that included going over twp big mountain passes.

Re: What do you drive???
Lots to like in the F150. I seriously considered the same configuration as you got, and that 3.5 was pretty snappy.BacoNoir wrote:Just got home with our new truck. It’s a 2022 F150 Lariat. Spare should be under bed. Jack likely under rear seat or side compartment.
Congrats.

Nice. Gonna have to pick your brain on your research. I’d love to buy a used F150 for my next car.BacoNoir wrote:Just got home with our new truck. It’s a 2022 F150 Lariat. Yeah, the accelerator is quick to respond, unlike my old 2005 F150. Glad I didn’t put my foot into it leaving the dealership. That twin turbo is quick.hoppyjr wrote:Lots to like in the F150. 3.5 hours. Did you fly in or drive? I remember when we bought the VW newbeetle in 2000 we got the green color for zero markup by driving to the small town dealer. I think it saved us $2000.BacoNoir wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 7:01 pmYeah, the accelerator is quick to respond, unlike my old 2005 F150. Glad I didn’t put my foot into it leaving the dealership. No. We drove over this morning, signed everything and drove home. My wife hit some stores in Denver that we don’t have in western Colorado and picked up some things we needed, while I signed paperwork.HapaHapa wrote:3.5 hours. Did you fly in or drive? Cant wait to put some miles on with the top down. Finally above 60. Supposed to have mid 70’s the weekend. I had the dealer take a peak at it then got the windows retinted with ceramic. Huge difference. New wheels next week. It’ll be a sweet change. I love this thing.

Nice! I've been wanting to try one of the newer Verts, although I think it would be hard for me to give up my E46. Time to do some mods!
