They are flat towable behind the RV, which is a big plus for us. Since the interiors only come in black, we’re thinking the AT4x / Denali or Z71 / ZR2 trim levels since you can get ventilated seats with cooling for summer time in the Rockies.

Good to hear. The independent online reviews seem to say the same but you never know how “independent” they are.toxicavenger wrote:We test drove the AT4 a few months ago and it was an amazing ride. Test drove an couple and was impressed. I loved my ‘19 and would have kept driving it if lefty hadn’t “needed” the larger camper. Even then, it towed it within the numbers, but not with the ease I’d like. Tried to find a Colorado diesel, but that didn’t happen.BacoNoir wrote: ↑Sat Jun 01, 2024 11:24 amAnyone driven one of the 2023 or 2024 GMC Canyon / Chevy Colorado trucks? Re: What do you drive???
Any issues with GM transmissions on those models?
I bought a 2016 GMC Arcadia as a third vehicle for my teenage kids to use and I’m a bit concerned about the transmission. It has the 6 speed 6T75 in it.
The issue is the transmission has a stutter as low speeds, seemingly struggling to fully change gears. I had the transmission serviced (inspected, pan dropped, fluid changed) and have the maintenance records indicating it was previously serviced at 50K miles.
I added a friction modifier to the trans fluid which helped. According to the Acadia forum I joined, others have had similar success using a specific transmission fluid.
It just seems the torque converter on these is undersized for the power of the engine (my armchair analysis).
On the positive side, the GMC is way nicer and quieter inside than our much newer Honda Pilot.

I've had great luck. But let's be honest...GM and Ford do full size right can't go wrong with either.[/quote]I almost bought a Silverado, but GM financing was 6.9% vs 0% on the Ford, so I went with Ford. Beautiful truck though.

It is a great wagon. I was looking for something to replace my Saab wagon that my daughter confiscated and this was one I wanted years ago. I did have to do a little maintenance to it but it is all good.
I wish. The V10 never came to the US.

Thanks dude. I am loving it.

What do you drive???
After 6 years the Kia van died- well sort of, needed another $3,000 in engine work after I put about $900 in. No complaints, put 1000k miles on it in our time so it was over 140,000.
Did not plan on it of course, thought it would last another few years so we found an interim for now. Always dreamed of a 200 Land Cruiser and that’s what we wanted to save up for. But this will do for now- 2013 Sequoia. It’s a beast, tons of room. I test drove a 2020 Highlander and it was just too small for us and 3 kids. My 13 year old son is now taller than me so space is an issue.
This is the wife’s, she’s a teacher and her school is only 5 miles away so gas mileage isn’t a huge deal.

If it is OK now, I would take it to an undercoating place. I use New Hampshire Oil Undercoating (NHOU) which is now a national chain. It costs me about $150 for my Tacoma. I do it once every year around September time frame. Cheap insurance.
Info here: https://www.autoblog.com/2016/11/14/toy ... ck-frames/
If the frame is already rusty, the recommendation is to scrape / wire brush all the loose stuff off, coat it with a rust converter paint, then spray it with oil as referenced above.
You can save a few bucks by spraying the frame yourself. Just need to buy about 10 cans of cosmoline from Home Depot and a respirator and go to town.
Re: What do you drive???
As an owner of a 4th gen 4Runner- I checked the frame when I took it out for a test drive. The frame and all underneath actually look great. The spare tire mount was the only part that I saw that needed attention. I was actually surprised how clean it was. I do plan on getting an oil/coating done before winter. There is a semi-local rhino liner guy that I’ve heard does the oil based frame protector.Ryeguy wrote:Frame rust is your biggest concern with those trucks.BBK357 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2024 9:30 amAfter 6 years the Kia van died- well sort of, needed another $3,000 in engine work after I put about $900 in. Actually the only rust I see is a nasty spot on the bottom of the back hatch where the mechanism is. It has to be a design issue because a quick google search showed me it’s pretty common. Considering the price of this I don’t mind. But I’m trying to find a rust repair/body shop. I plan on taking it to a few shops next week to see if they can cut the rusted part out of the bottom of the door and replace it. Not much metal involved but I know it’ll be time consuming. And no need to really match paint perfectly since it’s on the bottom.
I’ve also noticed some rusty bolts in random spots. Like the bolts that hold the windshield wiper tank on, one was rusted and broken off. So it needs a little bit of attention.

Thanks! It’s been well cared for, always dealer maintained, 135k miles on it, and when I delete the DPF and throw a run on it, it’ll be north of 550 lb/ft!!! They run and are very well built. They say that they’ll go 400k miles without major repairs.CGSshorty wrote:That’s a great looking car. If you told me that was the new model I’d have believed you.Wario406 wrote:My latest ride…

Yeah, in my Tundra, there's a little whine and then a "pop" every time I turn it off. It also takes a little getting used to when first turning them on, the fan blows up and is pretty loud while it runs fast for anywhere from 20-40 seconds depending on how recently it's been running. Great (but thirsty) engines!
