New Ming Diver: Bluefin

Post by tmw » Thu May 23, 2024 6:24 am

Check this out.

I have had the diver in the past, and very cool. I still have a ming 27.01 - which is the thinnest watch I own (I think 6mm - manual wind).

It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now

Wish it was bigger and had more complications than time only… still waiting for the right Ming for me.

OK - I just read the spec's and it is definitely a unique and well-designed watch

That said, at $5,500 USD, I'm guessing the audience is pretty limited.

I hate to admit it, but at that price point, I'd personally be looking a bit more traditional.

I loved the previous diver - had it for a long while. In a lot of ways it was too nice to wear. But this is redesigned and thinner. The internal bezel is a great touch, and the lume on these is usually insane.

Im in.

Agreed. And if I was going to drop over 5 grand on a dive watch, I’d want it looking a bit more legible. Don’t get me wrong, I love the unique design, just not for a watch in this category.

I’ve got the older diver. It’s really well made watch. I want to love this one, but the price is about 2k more than I was expecting.

They replied my mail saying they don't have a physical store. Let me see if i can engage the founder - Ming for coffee or something...

Ha. I actually passed on this one. A little on the small side. But no worries, I still have 3 watches on the way.
