Sounds like it should be more than just another version of an existing Black Bay, but who knows, they do like to generate hype. Every time this happens there are people that predict that they're bringing back the Tudor Submariner, but I think the various Black Bays are as close as they're going to get to that. One can dream though.

I too would love to see them bring back the Sub, though it may kill the BB line for a lot of people then. I agree that I don't think they would do that. I don't know enough about the Tudor back catalog to say if there are any other P01 clunkers waiting to be unearthed...hopefully not.

If I’m guessing, I’d say the chronographs are due for some updates. That or a thinner, revised BB full size.

If I’m wishing, a black dial/bezel FXD.

They brought back the Tudor Sub already. The Pelagos 39. Submariner will never be on a Tudor dial again unless it's an Only Watch release.

They just did that last year. The newer ones are thinner with the new jubilee bracelet. Still not as thin as I would like, but much better than the OG 41mm.

Maybe the new Prince chronos with the movement they developed/used for the Only Watch all gold 1?

I don't disagree, although I'd argue that the various BBs are also Tudor's current version of the Submariner. The Pelagos are the "snowflake" Submariners and the BBs are the pre-snowflakes. If they ever just used a non snowflake hand, ie Mercedes or lollipop I'd be interested, but they won't.

The back catalogue of classics includes Subs, Rangers and chronos, and my guess is this will be a chrono since I think they've pretty much exhausted the various Sub possibilities short of doing an actual Sub, and they recently re-did the Ranger. I hope it's not another P01 situation.

Good call out. Never linked the BBs with the non snowflake Subs because I always went to the snowflake/block marker 1s.

The BBs have always been "homages" of the early Subs in my mind, like the BB58 is a 1958 Sub, the BB54 the 1954 Sub. But they've always used the snowflake hands, which to me always looks awkward. The Pelagos 39 is the closest they've come yet IMO, as you stated, but for some reason I didn't quite click with it. If it were steel and didn't have the sunburst dial it may have done the trick. Right now I have the BB54, which is pretty close the original Tudor Sub, the 7922, but again with the snowflake hand. But as you said, I don't think they will ever release a full blown Tudor Submariner again, in deference to Rolex.

Hey neat Todd, man, this has been an incredibly exciting September. :excited:
We had the Fifty Fathoms Swatches, and now Tudor reveals that they
have something coming in a couple days. 8-) :)

I love these kind of teases because it’s gets all of us trying to figure
whatit might be. Thank you so so much !!!

I would like a plain, no gilt black BB58.
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Someone I follow from a watch site, can't remember which 1 brought up a good point. We all know a new chrono line is coming because they wouldn't go through the cost of developing a new movement just for an Only Watch release. But, would they release the production versions before the OW auction even takes place? The ceramic BB was released after the OW version. I can't recall how long after.

Another one would be good is black FXD without any affiliation, I'm tired of the FXD blue at this point. It is better than the regular blue Pelagos but, it's still not the right blue like midnight blue that's my favorite so just make black

That Chrono is beautiful - and, a black FXD would be extremely dangerous from a lust perspective.
