Sorry to hear that. Has not been my experience at all over the past many years, but obviously it happens.abuemily wrote:I want to love the watch, and maybe I’m the outlier here, but I had such a bad experience with Resco when I bought the original. Mine went back 3 times for warranty repair, they wanted me to pay shipping both ways (from an APO no less), and the last time it came back scratched. Again. Still great looking watches.
Had 2 Korsbek’s and wish I still had them; was in on the first pre-buy of the OE and it was such a steal. Dealt with Paul a few times and he was great.

The original Resco’s used a Russian movement, I believe called a Val-24 and it was problematic. I believe it took a while for them to realize it was just a bad movement overall, but Smitty eventually replaced those with ETA’s and they stopped using the Val.
Re: Titanium Resco
Yeah, he replaced that one (Slava) twice, then put a 2824 in. It died. The watch was just snakebite.hoppyjr wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 11:34 amabuemily wrote:I want to love the watch, and maybe I’m the outlier here, but I had such a bad experience with Resco when I bought the original. I would 100% be in for a DWC Resco. No-date, of course.

Korsbek oceaneer was my “grail” watch when I first started on Dwc. It was my first dive watch besides the few Seiko I had. Poul was awesome, he helped me a few times with issues i had. I wish I still owned it. This is one of my first ever watch pics:
I think mine was under $1000.

The VAL24 was such a shitter. I believe I got called out a few times in the past when I stated that.abuemily wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 3:22 pmYeah, he replaced that one (Slava) twice, then put a 2824 in. It died. I had one in a LumTec back in the day. Mine was fine, but I know it was problematic for them too.toxicavenger wrote:The VAL24 was such a shitter. Re: Titanium Resco
I believe so. Which sucks because Resco was a new brand when that occurred. But I have heard (besides Michael) that they did make it right for a lot of owners. And that speaks volumes imo.CGSshorty wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 1:48 pmI had one in a LumTec back in the day. Don't know where else to put this, but I hadn't realized Smitty and Nicole were featured on TV a few months ago.

Re: Titanium Resco
A couple questions for anyone who might know:
1. Does Resco still offer the UDT in steel?
2. Do they sell a bracelet that is compatible (same finish) with the Ti UDT?

Re: Titanium Resco
I’d be shocked if they didn’t have some steel cases still available. Reach out to Nicole at info@rescoinstruments.com and she’ll take care of you.DocHollidayDDS wrote:A couple questions for anyone who might know:

I do not believe they offer a Ti bracket at this time.

Re: Titanium Resco
They don’t offer a Ti bracelet, but the steel chainmail was recommended by Nicole is a great match for a Ti UDT.Chocodove wrote:I’d be shocked if they didn’t have some steel cases still available. Re: Titanium Resco
Thanks for the advice. I got in touch with Nicole, and she was a sweetheart to deal with. I have a steel UDT on steel bracelet on its way to me next week. Best part is that Resco has their remaining steel cases for the UDT on a nearly 35% discount off the regular price. So Merry Christmas to me!Chocodove wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 3:58 amI’d be shocked if they didn’t have some steel cases still available.
