Next Seiko
Hello!
I need some info.
My AD sent me a $100 off $500 deal and I’m thinking of adding a cheaper seiko diver.
Not interested in the 5kx and have no issue with quartz.
Show me what y’all have so I can start narrowing down what I want!
Thanks.

Was going to be my reply.andy tims wrote:Not a diver, but stretch the budget slightly?
Anything in the speedtimer line will be a good choice. Whether the original rereleases like the above or the new 42mm offerings.

Re: Next Seiko
Agree and it’s not close.
If you like small watches I also like a lot the “mini tuna”
https://www.gnomonwatches.com/products/ ... ef-stbq003
Also available in green.
What I like:
No date
Solar
Very small! Is like 39-40mm but wears like a 36mm because of the shroud. I have it in green as my beach watch. Wear it on a tropic style band (don’t like the stock strap as the metal keeper slides too much and punches the wrist)

I don't have any good pics of mine, but there's a solar quartz diver for every budget and size.
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Re: Next Seiko
Seiko Solar Tunas kick ass! I have a 497, hits every second mark, loses about 1 second a month.
Skinny - Here’s a list by model number of all the solar Seikos I have. I know you said “quartz” not just solar, but I can’t think of a non-solar quartz in your price range. My point is that I’d recommend any one of them as solid and reliable grab and go. They range from 38.5 mm to about 47. Also, there are typically several color/style variations for any of them.
SNJ025 - the solar Arnie reissue.
SNE497 - the solar tuna
STBR007 - the mini baby solar tuna at, I think 43 mm.
SNE589 - conventional steel case about 43 mm.
SNE573 - the little guy at 38.5 mm
Hmm, I just realized I have five black dial solar Seiko divers. I might have a problem.
