I still own my SBDX001, and still enjoy wearing it, but I am super careful with the crown. +/- $900 for a crown and tube replacement seems expensive, but I’d suck it up and pay. At $2,500, I’m not sure I’d authorize the repair. That is about what I paid for the watch itself.
Just on edit, are we talking USD or CAD? $2,500 CAD is $1,800 USD, so still twice as much as we expected, but not almost 3X.

As for the fake watch video….
I have no sympathy for someone who fails to use common sense. He mentions getting this watch for $1000 under the going rate when that model was only six months old. As I recall, they were commanding msrp or about during that time, so he should have realized that it sounded too good to be true because it was.

I agree with Hop.
While there are a few things I’ll buy off of places like Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace, luxury watches aren’t one of them.
Buying a high demand watch at a significant discount without box or papers? Damn…almost asking to be burned.
As a side note, the advice about back screwing the crown until the threads catch before tightening it down is pretty basic. I’m kinda surprised he had this “ah ha” moment so late it life. He just doesn’t come across as very mechanically inclined.

If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

This really sucks, I’ve been looking for a BB58 black and I know I have seen some fakes at least a couple looked weird to me. It sucks to have to worry about this.
