The Terminal List
The Terminal List
Watched 1&2 this weekend. 1 was hard to follow, 2 gained some momentum. Looking forward to the rest. I think the screenplay and acting are pretty solid. Im a fan so far.
I hear there are going to be some Ares watches in the series…
Started watching “The Old Man” this weekend too - but FX is playing games with the episodes and you have to pay additional money for key shows. F’ that.

Re: The Terminal List
I felt the same way about Breaking Bad and stopped watching because of that.
Then figured what the hell and finished the series anyway.

Re: The Terminal List
They pulled episode 3 from me unless I pay for it.

I was “meh” on Breaking Bad. It was ok, and Im glad I never paid for it. I was more of a Dexter fan… but, like many series they get weaker when the stars start producing them.mattcantwin wrote:I felt the same way about Breaking Bad and stopped watching because of that.

Breaking Bad is another one that seems like good TV but I just can’t get into it.mattcantwin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 11:30 amI felt the same way about Breaking Bad and stopped watching because of that.

Finishing up tonight. What a great show overall.
Forgot to mention something. Since I’m a big fan of Land Cruisers and have had one in my family in one form or another (100, 200, LC, LX) for over 20 years, I appreciated seeing the main character driving an older LC and also him wearing a jacket with old school LC patch on the cuff.

Right on. I saw the landy right off and know Jack Carr and many operators are fans.Panerai7 wrote:Finishing up tonight. What a great show overall.

Loved Dexter. Hated the way it ended and hated the way the reboot ended as well. I think most people fall into that camp though.Wario406 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 11:33 amI was “meh” on Breaking Bad. Finished this last night, thought it was pretty good and look forward to a second season. Definitely diverged from the book a bit, but not terribly so.

Im 100% with you on Dexter. hated the ending and the reboot sucked. They lost the magic in the last season. Kinda like game of thrones…unsub073 wrote:Loved Dexter. I'm enjoying the show. I have a couple episodes left. Makes me want to read the books.

I had the same issue with Succession, and gave up on that quick. Oddly though, I enjoy Billions, which is basically the same thing, rich folks doing bad stuff.mattcantwin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 11:30 amI felt the same way about Breaking Bad and stopped watching because of that.

Re: The Terminal List
Finished it last night, thoroughly enjoyed it. Could have had about 1/2 the "flashbacks" and have been maybe 1 total episode less as a result. Still, thumbs up.
Re: The Terminal List
Enjoy the show. Chris Pratt first serious movie with Fuquo on board = the equalizer reboot.
Watch collector since 1989

Just started it and enjoying it so far.
Recently finished watching "Slow Horses" on Apple TV. Excellent and close to the book, Oldman is superb.

There are way more likable people in Billions than in Succession. There isn't one of Roy's kids that you don't just want to throat punch. Even the non family members for the most part suck, but I will watch it till the end.Bob1035 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 10:34 amI had the same issue with Succession, and gave up on that quick. Re: The Terminal List
Are any of you old enough to remember carving apple head dolls? As in, you carve a face in an apple, and then leave it around for a few days to shrink up into a little old man doll head. Pretty cool.
Point being, that fucking TV show was to the books what the dried out, shrunken apple head was to the original carvings. A *lot* was lost to the shrinkage.
That said, it was a fuckton better than a lot of what passes for TV, and Pratt delivered, so, cool. Good 1301 shotgun action by Ben, and some cool transitions to handguns, shoulder swaps while clearing, etc. by Reece/Pratt Seemed tactically au courant.
Did anyone catch the cameo by author Jack Carr in E3? An awesome cameo!
And, yeah, Carr is a fan of the Graham product. I expect some ARES action at some point in future series.
In all, I think the 6.5 out 10 on the entertainment scale is fair enough, and I’ve read all the books.

Re: The Terminal List
I'm half way through the first episode of The Terminal List, and it is already 1000% times better than the abomination that is called Without Remorse, so hopefully it keeps it up.
Clancy is easily my favorite fiction guy, and Without Remorse is my favorite book. I wasn't surprised, but was still pissed they destroyed it.

Re: The Terminal List
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with Terminal List. It’s a pretty good adaptation of the book, and in some ways better because you get to see and feel the action. The acting is pretty solid too.Bob1035 wrote:I'm half way through the first episode of The Terminal List, and it is already 1000% times better than the abomination that is called Without Remorse, so hopefully it keeps it up.
