Watched part of that race and was curious if you were there. I was wondering if you avoided the crash right before the start of the race.

There's a Rivian pickup parked in a driveway in my neighborhood. Sorry no picture. Had anyone taken delivery on one of these?

No but I bought a little stock when they went public because they look a hell of a lot nicer than the Tesla truck.HapaHapa wrote:There's a Rivian pickup parked in a driveway in my neighborhood. Sorry no picture. Had anyone taken delivery on one of these?

I was lucky enough to pick up a less expensive 911 996 here in Oz. I'm a half owner with my bro in-law. We've sunk a ton of $ into this 22 year old 911, but it's been worth it, the feed back and driving experience is amazing, and I don't do a fraction of the shyt Seth is capable of doing.goaliechris wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 7:54 amDayum, Seth! Amazing pics - thanks for sharing.
Love Porsche. One day I will have a 911 but used prices are off the charts right now.

Putting the 911 aside, look at a good 987 Boxter or Cayman manual, preferably a S, a lot of car for the coin. I'm looking at these here in Oz. Get in while they're cheap. If you don't, watch the prices rise in the next 12-18 months.
You won't regret it...

We just put our new 718 GT4 on track yesterday. First miles. It will run the IMSA pilot sport series

Sounds bonkers.
Re: Car Spotting
Not quite as exotic as the previous posts, but I think its pretty d@mned cool. My brother in laws new toy:
Defender V8 "Carpathian"
Sounds terrific, and surprisingly quick for as big/heavy as it is, absolutely terrific choice for Starbucks runs
. Can't wait to get more seat time...

I think I tailed one of these last night. The design vibe is definitely sports car.Bob1035 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 4:04 amNot quite as exotic as the previous posts, but I think its pretty d@mned cool. My brother in laws new toy:

Re: Car Spotting
So I only got a quick drive in it, but it is seriously quick for its size, easily faster than any of my 6 cylinder M3s for reference (e36, e46), and will probably pull on an E39 M5.
Sounds fairly subtle at idle and inside the cabin, until you stomp it and it sounds like a stock car.
So to answer your question, yes absolutely! I’m really glad he passed on the initial new Defenders and waited for the V8

First Rivian I’ve spotted on the road. I didn’t even realize you could buy one yet.

I believe they are the preorders being delivered. Not sure you can go and order one right now without a wait, but nice to see them actually on the road!CGSshorty wrote:First Rivian I’ve spotted on the road. I didn’t even realize you could buy one yet.

They’re being delivered to non-employees now, and an order today is expected to be delivered early 2024. We have the suv on order, and I expect it end of this year / early 2023.CGSshorty wrote:First Rivian I’ve spotted on the road. I didn’t even realize you could buy one yet.
The one pictured is likely a test truck, with Michigan manufacturer plates (I am guessing).
