I don't know, breaking that 5K price point is somewhat significant.

Doesn't seem that long ago when it was at the 4K point...streetracer101 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 9:51 amI thought the price was too much at 4k (without discount). 5k+ is just ridiculous, but if people pay it, might as well charge it.

Many non WUS look to Omega when they can't get a Sub.... and since you can't walk into Rolex and buy a sub I don't blame Omega for taking advantage of having actual stock....

Indeed. That's why I largely tapped out of watches. The fun:value ratio went lopsided in the wrong direction for me.

Agreed. Glad I have what I have now, but I've slowed WAY down.streetracer101 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 12:05 pmIndeed. That's why I largely tapped out of watches. The fun:value ratio went lopsided in the wrong direction for me.

Yep. I see some of these are still mid 3’s used/like new, at least on rubber. Might be the time to do it. Would be a nice compliment to my Sub.

Honestly I think it’s still a great buy at the updated price. Should still be able to snag a discount to get it to mid 4’s. They hit above their weight imo. Need to get a blue to compliment my white.

Picked mine up a ways back.
Worked out a trade plus cash with Rob at Topper's; he's great to work with.
Solid watch.

I’m also in the camp that still finds Omega a decent value. Heck, they don’t drop as much as they used to on the pre-owned market, which is likely due in part to Omega discounts being reduced and quality improving.
I realize Rolex is the ling-term value leader, but I found the white dial Seamaster to be a stellar piece. To do it again I’d have kept it. Now I’m considering the Nekton no-date Seamaster.

I actually think the Seamaster is a good value. Great watch and collared favorably to a sub for a lot less and it’s obtainable
