New Seiko Thread
Re: New Seiko Thread
I like 'em both. Not too wild about the strap on the Tuna, but that's easily remedied.
Re: New Seiko Thread
I like the blue-ice dial. The shroud on the baby-tuna looks much more like the tuna than prior versions. Hands however make it look like a mod.
The Hapa
Re: New Seiko Thread
Yes, imagine the possibilities strap, and bracelet wise Myles?
Pretty awesome !
And Eric, and Andrea, the look of the Tuna does take you back, but then the hands,
and ice blue dial really change things up. So do those penguin prints !
It's something that can grow on you though I think. And has to be amazing in person
probably too. ..Just is fun to see honestly. Not to mention talk about with you guys.
Thanks a ton everyone !!!

Re: New Seiko Thread
is that white or silver? I've read conflicting reports online. Every picture I see of it suggests white.

There’s a review on YT and it’s a bit of a sunburst silver.Mr_Pacman wrote:is that white or silver? I've read conflicting reports online. Every picture I see of it suggests white.

Re: New Seiko Thread
I read a post online where someone got one and suggested it's more of a silver sunburst than white, but they didn't post a picture. Silver sunburst isn't of interest to me but a pure white would be.mattcantwin wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 7:49 amI've come across the same; maybe it's a blend?
In any case, it looks great.
I'll wait for someone here to post good pictures. There is a seiko dealer in town giving 35% off new models including SLA021's. I'm going to buy ones I like before he gets the line pulled from him.

Anders has really helped me out with issues in the past; I try to purchase from Gnomon if prices are close.

Re: New Seiko Thread
Not sure if everybody has had time to see Seiko's new Prospex 1986 Quartz
DIVER’s 35th Anniversary L.E. already.
This special version takes you back to the 80's. Having details like a 49.4mm
titanium case with ceramic outer case protector, or shroud, 1000m WR, sapphire
crystal, unidirectional rotating bezel, nice blue dial with Lumibrite on the hands,
and markers, the Seiko 7C46 quartz movement, plus multiple silicon straps too.
Just a few pictures...

OceanicTime, and Seiko with a lot more for you...

I’d love this dial to be truly white, but it isn’t. Definitely want to at least see one before I take the plunge.
Re: New Seiko Thread
Thanks Tom. 1000M Tunas are too big for me, but this watch is just a beautiful object.

As always, Anders at Gnomon is great to work with.
I asked him for a watch that runs fast, not slow and with good alignment.
Pictures below arrived this morning.

^^^Good luck! However any 6r movement I've had that starts out less than +3 s/d unfortunately settles into the loss side within months.
Have I expressed how much I dispise the 6r movement.

Re: New Seiko Thread
Don't mention it Nick.
Am with you sir, these are kind of big, and maybe a little too expensive at the
same time also. But still are amazing like you are saying.
Not to mention,
so much fun just to see right?!
Am very glad you enjoyed, and thank YOU for just chiming in !!!

Re: New Seiko Thread
Not sure if we touched on Seiko’s newest Prospex King Turtle
and Samurai PADI Editions yet guys.
With the King Turtle you have a 45mm stainless steel, and with
the King Samurai you have a 43.8mm stainless steel case. And
both watches have 200m WR, sapphire crystals, unidirectional
bezels with ceramic inserts, sleek black dials with neat light blue
accents, and luminous hands, and markers. Plus stainless steel
bracelets, rubber straps, and Calibre 4R36 there within the Turtle,
and then Calibre 4R35 there within the Samurai.
Here is a look...

I could spend a lot of money on these Seiko's. Drooling over many of the new models. That new PADI Turtle is pretty sweet.

I dispise the cyclops on any of the new Seikos and just don't get why this seems to be the "new thing" with them.
If I have to change something to like the watch I'm not a buyer.

Re: New Seiko Thread
Seiko should release that turtle with a Patek aquanaut style rubber strap
.

Don't know if anyone seen this one yet.

And out of over 48,000 possible combinations, the winner is a gold dial, Pepsi bezel diver that bears more than a passing resemblance to the Seiko 6139, better known as the Pogue.
