Re: Synchron 70’s Military Homage
So Synchron releases the Army and taking orders, Doxa comes out a day after with their Ad saying only the original deserves your trust? Alrighty then, game on! where's the popcorn?

Re: Synchron 70’s Military Homage
But Doxa was owned by the Synchron Group back in the day, right? That's what threw me off. At first I thought it was Doxa just using the old Synchron branding the way Tag Heuer does using the Heuer label on some of it's "heritage" releases. But then when I went to the site, there was no mention of Doxa. I agree with the smoke and mirrors.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 5:25 amNo. There are multiple companies using the Synchron branding but with other added crap like S.A. Part of the smoke and mirrors play on words that have been used for years.jswing wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 4:00 amI'm confused. When I saw it last night I thought it was a Doxa. Isn't Synchron and Doxa the same? I've lost track. I almost ordered one last night but I'm a little hesitant. Partly because I don't like countdown bezels, and maybe partly because when I showed it to my wife, to show her how cool it was, she said, "you're kidding, right?" LOL. It is fugly, but in a cool way.
Re: Synchron 70’s Military Homage
Oh man, I have been wishing for one of these re-editions for 20 years now. I received the email notification from Synchron last night at 8pm EST.... My order was in by 8:05pm EST. I had to wipe the drool off of my phone's screen. I have always liked the unique look of these.

Re: Synchron 70’s Military Homage
Considering that an original Doxa Army can go for $5K plus, if you can even find one, I'd say either the Synchron or Doxa reissue may be a relative bargain.

Re: Synchron 70’s Military Homage
Despite the weird controversy going on with Doxa and Synchron, I have to say I prefer the original model.
The new one Synchron has put out doesn’t have the crown sunk into the case a little like the original and I’m not a fan of the patina lume on this one at all. They should have went with C3.
Otherwise the price is good. I still want a Sub300T Caribbean, which is just my favorite version of Doxa.

Re: Synchron 70’s Military Homage
Odd that the email says limited to 300 pieces, but the website then says 250 of each version
Either way, I like it. Not enough to jump, but it's a cool "reissue" IMO. I am sure it will sell out at that price.

Knowing the way they worked LEs in the past....
It is probably closer to 1000 of each version....which includes....un-numbered versions, promo versions, double secret probation versions, double-double toga party secret probation versions, internal use only versions, plus renumbered from 1 versions.....

Yep.
I’m at the three sides of the story point. Rick/docs, doxas and the truth. It’s not all one sided here. Never is.

Re: Synchron 70’s Military Homage
Funny he does this when Doxa took the company back, but he didn't when it was ran by the previous guys in the basement who did weird/shady crap constantly.

Re: Synchron 70’s Military Homage
Holy cow, now they are both releasing one of these ??!!
That is something really. ..I guess they both knew what the other was up to.
No matter what, it's incredibly cool to see honestly. And will be fun to see
the price difference too, if any.
Thanks a ton for the news on all of this !!!

Re: Synchron 70’s Military Homage
At this point, with all the strong opinions, the only thing the threads on WUS are missing are Fire Trucks...and we all know how that has gone.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 5:27 amhttps://www.watchuseek.com/threads/doxa ... t-53149033
And the more they beat around the real issues and frankly the truth (i.e., doxa, rick, etc) the worse its going to get.
This is the exact opposite of rising tide...I am sure people have already walked away from buying from this crap.

I'm giving the silver one a try; I've always wanted/not been willing to pay for an Army.

If you buy both, you get a quartz fire truck watch as a gift. Ooops. I mean "diving with legends or other history book."

Re: Synchron 70’s Military Homage
I'm not interested in the watch, regardless of who makes it. But I do love me some good watch related drama.

Re: Synchron 70’s Military Homage
I think I'm just the opposite.... give me the cool watch and skip the drama. If I wanted drama I would have started watching the Kardashians a long time ago.
