Yeah, I suppose from their standpoint it costs them almost nothing to offer different flavors given that it is just swapping parts... but those look bad.WatchOut63 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 8:27 amAmazing how a simple bezel insert can turn a watch to fugly

That's not the Turdle case. Note the location of the crown, and the more oval case shape.dnslater wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 8:58 amYeah, I suppose from their standpoint it costs them almost nothing to offer different flavors given that it is just swapping parts... but those look bad.WatchOut63 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 8:27 amAmazing how a simple bezel insert can turn a watch to fugly

It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now

My wife wouldn't be at all interested in that watch. "Homage" issues aside, I wonder how many women would want to wear a matte dial, explorer style watch like that.

What's with the downward arrows? Seiko's been doing a great job with dials lately at all model levels, but this one is a miss imo.

Re: New Seiko Thread
I'm starting to think that Seiko is just regurgitating a bunch of models and hope something sticks.
Re: New Seiko Thread
SBDC139 looks like a potential winner if you're into that cool blue on white palate -- I personally am not.
We all know how crap seiko renderings are
I don't particularly care for the LE willards with date at 4:30... And I still fail to see how the manta ray dialed NAFT is something special.

Re: New Seiko Thread
I dont get it with new divers, grenade dials and similar. Watches are just too busy. I welcome the sapphire and ceramics on turtle and samurai but grenade dial and cyclops are a no-go.
Some additional color schemes, maybe 4R with pr indicator (like Orient divers) or new 6R or offering them in different sizes would be a winner for me
Like this green jdm turtle - web photo (+ sapphire and ceramics...

Just got the Seiya email that the SBDC133 LE is available. Not huge on that shade of green but it does go well with that second hand.

Re: New Seiko Thread
Amen to that. From my experience I can't see paying more than six or $700 for that movement.

The new 6r35’s are better and have the 70 hour reserve.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 5:13 pmas much as i like it i can not pay 1300 for a 6r movt.
