Seiko SPB149 LE

Not sure it’s a keeper, but it’s a nice package. Great value in this one, IMO. The blue/grey dial is unique.

I think I am the only one who does not like that rubber strap
It’s very comfortable, not showing lint and wear yet. I think tire tread probably looks best in black, though.

Sorry Terry, now I think you are on your own not liking that strap. Looks awesome to me.

I like it on the strap, too. The pic on the Nato also looks great. This is just a fine package, overall.

No. Wu’s LE is the 62mas revision (about $1500) and uses the 62mas style case in 40mm.

This new one is the MM200 style (think SBDX001 MM300 but thinner & lighter). It’s been out for a couple years but had an arrow hour hand. This new one has slightly different dial and different handset.

Pending real pictures of the new MM200 I think I finally found my next Seiko. It’s so close to the MM300 while being thinner, which was my only real gripe style wise of the MM300. I’ve been perfectly content with just the NAFT as my one Seiko diver. This may change it. Matt’s pictures do make that model more appealing than I thought it would be to me.

So these are not actually confirmed yet as far as I can tell. They look nice, but if they're over $1K, I'll stick with my SBDC063. But i have an actual MM300 too, so I don't have the need to scratch that itch.

This could be interesting. I really love my SBDX017 MM300 but it is too tall for wearing often (for me at least).
The older I get, the less I can put up with chunky watches

Yeah I found the watch to be thicker than necessary, but honestly if I hadn’t had movement issues with mine I would of kept it. I daily wore mine for at least 6 months and then it started losing a crazy amount of time. If it had been able to be fixed without going to Seiko I likely would still be wearing it today. After Terry’s independent couldn’t get the part it needed I sold it off taking the loss because of all the horror stories I’ve heard with Seiko repairs. Looking back I should have just kept it and gambled that it would have been fine.

Same as Matt's SPB149, the 6R Willards (151 & 153) have hour and minutes hands that are half brushed and half polished. Pretty cool (easier to see with UV light).

SBP151 Willard watch head weighs 83g without spring bars.

Here's the watch on MM300 strap as promised. Love it!

I read someplace the 151's handset was fully polished. Might be mistaken, though.

Edit: my pic not the greatest, but 151 hands look fully polished

Killer combo! Love the MM300 strap.
This watch is probably as close as Seiko has come to replicating one of their classic dive watch designs in a regular production piece. Tremendous. I keep saying I don't want one, but I kinda want one.

Maybe, haven't seen one in the flesh. Matt's 149 appear to have the same ones as ours 153's.

The MM300 strap was made for this watch. I didn’t care for it as much on the MM300.

I forgot how nice the MM300 strap is in that it doesn’t have a skin-biting metal keeper.

OK - Willard for me next. I have my almost 10 year old virgin MM300 rubber strap waiting for it.
