New (to me) Car Day
New (to me) Car Day
Hofmanns of Henley (on Thames) delivered my Exige 410 today, which just happens to be my birthday so almost perfect timing.
The almost part, is because having had a carpal tunnel operation yesterday, it will be a couple of days before I can drive it.

Beautiful Andy, congrats! Also keeping your other one (one for the streets, one for the track)?

Best present ever!! Happy B Day!!!!
Whisky has killed more men than bullets, but most men would rather be full of whisky than bullets.

That car is incredible. Would love to own a Lotus. Been infatuated with the Esprit since I was a kid, although the Toyota V6 in the Exige would be a hell of a lot less headache. What is service like with these?
Re: New (to me) Car Day
Thanks all.
It's not especially cheap - circa £500 for an annual service as things are not that easy to access, but I got 3 years servicing included in the deal.

And Happy Birthday!!!
For my birthday, I bought myself a fully loaded bean, beef, and cheese burrito.

Private plate (yes I know it's too long - trying to get a shorter one)
and sun strip fitted for that extra splash of yellow, as well as helping to keep the sun out of my eyes.

The car is very cool, but I really love the look of the crushed stone drive and brickwork on the house (?) behind the car.

I can't wait to get it on track - 3 dates booked in August. The 380 was fabulous (see the vid if anyone missed it before)

but this thing is going to be even better. No heat soak power loss, even better brakes & 3 way adjustable suspension, that I can fine tune.

Re: New (to me) Car Day
Had my second drive in the Exige Sport 410 this afternoon.
What a thing - it's brilliant.
It’s only an extra 30hp but combined with circa 20kg less weight it is certainly noticeable compared to the 380, but the bigger difference is the suspension.
The 3 way nitrons appear to have been set up very nicely for the road. The ride is a bit plusher and better damped so I can get on the power hard and early more often out of those corners that are less than perfectly surfaced i.e. most of them.
The supercharger is much louder than in the 380, but not as high pitched whiny as the Series 2 cars.
My 410 has the optional sound deadening, so supercharger aside, it’s a quieter car.
I understand the sound deadening is just the carpet to the foot wells and the sides of the cills - If that's correct, I might take it out as I prefer the rawness of the extra noise.
Couldn't feel any discernible difference in the braking department - I expect you need track speeds to feel the advantage of the J hook discs.
Looking forward to my first outing on the 3rd of August.
PPF is going on the whole front tomorrow & I'm looking to get the car ceramic coated.
