Keep in mind Zodiac (owned by Fossil) has access to bespoke movement manufacturing via STP. That's mostly what I was referencing since they're using the STP movements in the Sea Wolves.matt.wu wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 7:14 pmThere’s a big gap between making nice watches with outsourced movements and making nice watches with in-house movements. With such a polarizing show so far it looks like they nailed this model. Hopefully, this is a sign of the times for Zodiac and shows some of Fossil's intentions with the brand (if we the Sea Wolfeses didn't already). I'd love to see STP step up their game and create an accurate GMT movement. Can you imagine this watch, sapphire crystal, and bezel, plus a flyer's GMT at around ~$1800 MSRP? I'd be a buyer.
It’s precisely what’s so impressive about brands like Nomos. Small brands doing legitimate movement design and production at a reasonable price point. The style often is polarizing, but the value is unmatched.
Certainly, some big brands do it too (Seiko) but it’s a little less impressive.

Yeah definitely aware of it. Just that even within movement manufacturing, making changes like that are usually tough.Aaron Shapiro wrote:Keep in mind Zodiac (owned by Fossil) has access to bespoke movement manufacturing via STP. Truth be told, if they can do it and keep price point, I’m very interested.

Good point. I give Alpina a ton of respect. They do a lot of things right.Ryeguy wrote:Alpina has done this with an in house modified Sellita movement. While it certainly isn’t a true in house movement, but it bridges the the two camps by providing an additional feature (jump hour hand GMT) in a factory supported / warrantied package in a sub $2K MSRP.matt.wu wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 7:14 pmThere’s a big gap between making nice watches with outsourced movements and making nice watches with in-house movements. I guess since Alpina is the only “affordable” brand I can think of who does this, they might be considered to be the exception that proves the rule.

Yeah, that's hot.
Re: ZODIAC Limited Edition Aerospace GMT
Love it. I have a good collection of super se wolf's and a couple of topper editions coming. The attention to detail with this one is really good. I think it's in a good price point. Zodiac is really on their game right now.

I bought a cheap watch from a crazy man
Floating down canal
It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now
Now you may be thinking that I was had
But this watch is never wrong

I’d rock that on an Erika’s Original. Very nice.

Re: ZODIAC Limited Edition Aerospace GMT
I really like the orange also, but I have a weakness for GMT's so it's a less "loud" daily wear watch. Also, it is the "original" rereleased in black/grey....here ya go.
