Being the lightweight that I am, I decided to wait until Justified came out on DVD to watch it properly (could only manage a few episodes on TV as it was on late here in the UK). Also, my eyes ain't what they used to be; is Timothy Olyphant wearing a Rolex Sub' in the first episode?
And, I love the show. Oustanding

When I was at university, the lecturer who supervised my thesis was an American who like me, saw quality TV as the modern equivalent of high-art drama from the likes of Shakespeare, and we had many long discussions about the merits of shows like NYPD Blue and writers like Mamet and Bocho. I hope there's a season 2 in the offing.
Regards
Steve

great show, i think his first watch was a SD or Sub, but the later episodes show i think a Tag on strap.
anyone else notice his change in weapons? first was a Sig, then Glock, then 1911 i think.
fantastic show, i cannot wait for season 2.

Great show.
And the best writing has been on TV for a while, rather than the movies.
(Anyone into Walking Dead, Terriers, Boardwalk Empire, or Dexter? Love 'em all.)

I'm watching the Walking Dead and Dexter now (Dexter is getting SO good). I hear Boardwalk is great an right up my alley so I'm going to watch it over my winter vacation.

Haven't seen Terriers yet. The other three are faves of mine. The Walking Dead is the most fantastic, compelling show on TV right now IMO.

Raylan is a TAG man. Hank Dalworth is a Sub man (and, agree that Terriers is pretty good).
The surprise of the season? I despise zombie movies. Probably even more than Star Trek type crap. I can't believe it, but Walking Dead has me hooked.
What else? Modern Family! Cougar Town. Waiting for Justified and Breaking Bad to start back up. Rubicon was okay, but I won't miss it terribly, if there is no season two.

Rubicon was canceled I believe. Walking Dead was the best thing on TV this year IMO. Boardwalk Empire was very good. Mad Men was excellent as usual. I've got a pretty big backlog of TV I'm getting through on DVD. Currently watching the first season of Community (good) and Californication (not bad, but kind of boring).

Community is the worst show that I religiously record.

We watch it, but of the things we record, it seems to always come in last on the list. Also, I wish I understood all of the references.
I don't get Mad Men.

I really enjoy Community. Funny show.
But a big

on Mad Men. I "netflix'd" season 1 awhile ago, and haven't been able to even get halfway through. Maybe it gets more interesting later?

I find Mad Men, like the other great AMC series (apart from The Walking Dead) to be a slow grower. The more you watch, the better it gets. Similar in a lot of ways to the best TV series in history, The Wire.

Yep, The Wire is #1.
Mad Men is also like a book, as the characters develop significantly.
