Is it larger than the original BR02?

Don't know, I think it's an older model?
I thought it looks great on a strap:

It's the same 44mm case as any 02. They did a few dial and case variations. The 02 has been out of production for a couple of years now. It wears extremely well for its size.

That is fair for that model in mint condition with both straps and pelican case. Does that mean your 8500 didn't cure the itch?

I had one of the BR02- SS with orange hour hand-- thought it was 49-50MM L to L and was pretty comfy on the B & R rubber strap-- I want the new diver...

Slippery slope. Enjoy. I've had a one of these. They are great and worked even on my 6.5" wrist, although it would've been better if my wrist was 7" or more

Often toyed with the idea of one of these. I just like how the package came together.

I think that B&R might be wearable even if smaller wrists due to the same visual trick which makes the 44mm Seiko Marine Master wearable - the large case balanced by the relatively small dial opening.

I absolutely love mine and am wearing it right now. I bought it for just over 1k, watch head only and in probably 85% cosmetic condition. I think 2k for like new and as a complete set is a reasonable price. Very comfortable watch. From lug-bar to lug-bar is only about 42mm, although when measured from lug ends it's about 50mm.

It has 24mm lugs and will take any strap. I bet it would look a lot slimmer if you removed that bulky rubber strap.

Actually the lugs are 26mm unlike the BR01 & 03 which have 24mm lugs...

reference point:
on a 6.5 wrist...
it really wears comfortably, cuz it basically has no lugs

Learn something new every day. I always thought they were 24.
