I've got 38mm on the brain...what do you guys think about that size? Something fixed bezel, long skindiver-esque lugs, maybe field watch kind of vibe.

38 is 2mm too big for hidinkee, and 2mm too small for most of us

38 without a diver's bezel could look like a 40mm. I would be interested.
I love the size of my 40mm Oris 65, perfect for natos. I did try a vintage 35mm Omega Seamaster the other day... that was too small for me.

This is the correct answer. I never wear my Sinn 556 and it is just barely smaller than the Seaforth.BBK357 wrote:38 is 2mm too big for hidinkee, and 2mm too small for most of us

H Khaki 38mm is a bit small.... 40mm Khaki is just right imho...

Re: A Halios 38mm, fixed bezel field watch?
for me it really depends on the bezel. a 38mm nomos club is great for me. so the dial/bezel ratio will make a lot of difference.
Re: A Halios 38mm, fixed bezel field watch?
A 38-39mm field watch is a great size. I loved my Sinn 556. Many prefer larger watches, but the smaller watch boutique market is largely ignored, so I'm sure if Jason made a thin, uniquely styled 38-39mm fixed lug field watch he could easily sell the small amount that he will produce. Weiss makes theirs in 38mm, but it is $2k.

That Weiss watch is beautiful, but I can't agree on the price. Its a big difference in price but I would save more and just get a white/silver Mark XVIII.
If I don't find a Sinn 556 Weiss (or a white dial Seaforth), I'll probably go with this one:

Great looking watches! I like both dial colors, actually the dark gray/black a little more than the white one, but I have too many black dial watches as it.
Lugs are longer that I would like but they probably work great on natos.
The one I posted (love the colors on the dial) actually comes with a very nice strap IMO.

This is the one I meant, blue dial, 41.5mm, 200M WR new "diver" they introduced with swing system
Of course I'd have to make straps to cover those long longs

My Artillerist will be 41mm. I believe the market for 38mm might be too limited.

Yes, that is the one I meant when I wrote "dark gray". It's a great looking watch. I looked at the 740 (very similar to the 775 but 37.5mm diameter and no date) but it has 18mm lugs, this is a no no for me. The 38 Campus (735), even though doesnt have the swing system or the 200m WR, has 20mm lug width, 100m WR and a nicer dial IMO.
