I like mine a lot too... really nicely executed, fun, quirky design, great bang for buck and the blue is fantastic

this is an extreme shot, it doesn't wear anywhere near as thick and there is no 'strap gap' like on the black models... however many mm they moved the lugholes was an improvement, plus the v.2 case seems to be a hair thinner than v.1...

Case thickness is 13mm. Thinner than most similarly sized case divers being offered at this time.

Yeah, but it's all mid case. Any time a watch is visually dominated by a slab sided mid case it's going to look thick. The tudor BB is a great example of this. It's not thick in an absolute sense, but it's really visually chunky. This one is even more so. The fact that the lugs curve down so much that the strap appears to start toward the bottom of the mid case only increases the effect.

for a $500 micro with ETA it's a damned good value proposition, and great looking to boot

I'm done with funky Miyota micros... the Seaforth cemented that for me

Well said.

The price-to-value ratio on the Evant is very solid IMO. As for the movement point, I am only using Sellita or ETA movements with my next few projects. There are just too many Micros using Miyota and Seiko now and blending together.

What is your point with this post?

My "nonsense" post was merely pointing out that there seems to be a lot of thick case divers and many prefer a slimmer case, which this one offers.
Plus, my picture gave the illusion it was much thicker so I posted the actual spec.

JP... it's obvious you have real issues with me. But enough is enough already. Every thread I post something in you seem to need to take a shot.

Not hating, but case still seems thick to me for a three hander. It's definitely a good price for a micro with an ETA.

Why did you hate the seaforth so much. I thought it was an ok value at $700 due to the original design and nice case chamfers. Resale prices are silly.

I didn't hate it, but first complaint was the Miyota movement... guess I don't have much experience with them, but the spinning rotor sounded like a cheap toy and drove me nuts, no more Miyotas for me... second, the steel bezel was very sharp along the edges... other than that a nice overall design and execution, but it didn't feel like a $700 watch to me, and the resale prices are insane... the Evant is a better watch for the $$ imho

I thought the bezel was ok.. standard unrefined micro fare. I didn't like the movement of it....felt cheap. My rotor was loudish too, but honestly, I've had ETA's that are just as bad. The Evant in interesting. I'd like to see a new iteration with less lug curvature.

The sharp bezel edge is my one complaint with the Seaforth. It's probably only an issue with the sapphire bezel. I'm half deaf, so loud rotors don't bug me.

i agree that the bezel is probably the weak point on the watch finishing. but i love the design and fit. i notice the rotor noise on all my 9015s, but only when i'm thinking about it and the watches are closer to my head. it's not something that affects me.
