Doxa roll call
Re: Doxa roll call
Sorry to interrupt the great photos, but I have a Doxa question. Has there ever been or will there ever be a 5000T Searambler? That is the Doxa I will buy without a second thought. Carry on.

Never had it. Will they? The one thing I can say about DOXA is this ... they will make anything if enough people want one. I will give them that. Most of these new watches started out as a request, followed by a poll, followed by a committal (i.e. deposit). Start a thread on the WUS DOXA forum. They will make a small batch if enough people want one.

Re: Doxa roll call
Well 33 days later the watch that started this thread now in Ohio

My first Doxa. . . 750 Pro COSC

Then I picked up a beauty vintage SR. . . later sold it because I couldn't swim with it. That was really foolish.

My brother nabbed a 5000T COSC Sharky when it was first released. . . sweeeeeet watch. . .

Then I tried the 'vintage thang' one more time. . . sold it again because I couldn't swim with it. Realized I need to wear my watches and am not much of a collector.

I owned each of the 600s, but never got comfortable with the folded end-links. Sold them all. . .

I really should have kept the 600 DS, that was one cool watch.
Somewhere along the line, I picked up a 750 Sharky for my pops and my brother got a 750 SR. Here is a group shot.

So, 5 years and 6(?) Doxas later, only one remains. . . my original 750 COSC Pro. It has proven to be a very reliable watch, the sentimental favorite, and makes me smile each time I put it on.

I was all set to be a one Doxa guy, then this was announced. . .

I expect the NUMA 1200 to capture the quality feel of the 750 with the proportions of the 600 and the vintage Doxas. Honestly, the 600s and 300s fit my wrist a bit better than my 750, but the 750 always outclassed the 600s and 300s due to the SEL and WR. I think the NUMA 1200 just might be the perfect Doxa for me.
Thanks for looking.
Kev.

Re: Doxa roll call
i got it for a great price from an excellent seller on watchuseek. it's a daily wear, so there's lots of light scratches on the outer polished bezel...but that saves me from putting them there in the 1st placerockmastermike wrote:One day....I will find one and will join the club. Nice William. That makes, I think, 3 of us here now that have that one. I have the same problem: can't get that f'n bracelet off to save my life. I thought maybe some hot water would do the trick. Nope. I'm either going to give up and live with it, sell the watch (for other reasons), or get a different set of screwdrivers.

Re: Doxa roll call
yeah, Doxa must have put these sumbitches on with super glue instead of the usual loctite. Although, one of our resident gurus (Wu) did manage to get the bracelet off of his....well, back when he owned one.watchdaddy1 wrote:BSears wrote:watchdaddy1 wrote:My 1 & Only for now 5000T, I purchased a few months ago directly from DOXA...I can't get the friggin bracelet off for the life of mewhich smokes me

Re: Doxa roll call
It was a great season and I got a bunch of wreck dives, plenty of fish and lobster to fill my belly, and I'm waiting patiently for my 3rd Truk Lagoon Trip in April.
I am also patiently waiting for my NUMA in Febuary??? Looks like a lynch mob was forming over at WUS on the NUMA thread in the Doxa forum......
Sometimes a Doxa preorder is a leap of faith!
