Mine arrived today. I looked at both but decided the vintage wasn't for me, probably because I'm all hot for another Sinn EZM3F.

I'm wearing the blasted (#6) around the house today and my initial impressions are good. The larger lume plots aren't as noticeable in person as in photos (IMO) and the overall finish seems nicer than a $500 watch. Operation is decent and I'd say "it's worth it."

The side profile shots make it look really tall, but I'd say it's 14mm or so. The lugs curve down, so the nato passes almost flat under the case (which lays flat on the wrist) and reminds me of how the Seiko Brightz Phoenix diver did. It's not heavy and overall seems about the size of my 42mm Planet Ocean.

Congrats Hoppy!! Mine is en route. I too got the BB after seeing non glamour: catalogue shot pics of the LE for new owner. Love the dial and bezel but the more I see pics the more I worry about the height and how it looks from the lug sides.
It needs a thick strap so we see less case from 6 o'clock I think.

Is it weird that I'm considering one of these just because I have some awesome 20mm straps?

is it weird that when i see the top down view, i expect this to be a slim watch a la the oris 65, and then i see the profile and think it looks way too tall?

It looks like that because of the downward sloping lugs, but I don't think it wears tall.

Specs put it about identical to Black Bay, save for the lug width. It wears similarly to the BB on nato.

Sounds good. I still have the PO and wear it about 4 days a week.

Funny you mention the BB. This has the same slab sided all mid case look as the BB.

It looks like I may have scored one here on the dee dub, really looking forward to trying it out. These pics only make it more attractive.

Soooo after seriously considering selling mine BNIB, I decided to try it out today since I actually kinda like it. Good thing I did, as when I pulled out the crown to set the time it's very apparent that the movement isn't seated correctly. The whole dial moves in the case from moving the crown very slightly horizontally or simply winding it. :banghead:

Who knows if it was packed like that or it was damaged in shipping (Gnomon really needs to step up their packing game regardless), but I can't say I'm overly pleased. I have an email in to Anders, so we'll see.

That sucks. Everything I've read suggests Anders is a good guy to work with, so hopefully this works out.

I've been eyeing these as well and yours is the first defect issue I've heard about, so I'm guessing this is just and isolated incident.

Yeah, from what I've read about Gnomon's CS, I'm confident he'll work with me. I have a feeling it may have gotten a good knock or two during shipping. It was in a plastic DHL bag with one layer of bubble wrap around the actual (wood? Plastic?) watch box. Not the most secure for going halfway across the world.

Anders is a really great dude. So he will take care of you. If not then let me know and I will call him.
