Damasko and Sinn
Re: Damasko and Sinn
I own 3 Damaskos and 2 Sinns,,,,I'd go Damasko if I were to do it all again, great build, better lume, deeper lug depth for straps, harder finish, more comfortable caseback, smoother bezel action.
Damasko, Damasko, Damasko.....
The DK11 is one of the only modern watches I still have in my collection (largely vintage these days).
Putting aside customer service (which has not been an issue for me with my Damasko), I really don't see the comparison with Sinn. The movement in the Damasko is unbelievable, the "technology" throughout exceeds, in my view, what Sinn is currently doing, and the Damasko has more its own look.
I like some of the Sinns, but I feel Damasko is on a different level than Sinn at this point.
I wear mine on a Damasko bracelet, and have high praise for the bracelet as well.
Just my 2 cents.

Sinn for me all day between these two brands. I like knowing the company stands behind the watch.

I realize people like the "watch company that's really an aerospace company", but I like to know that the company won't fold up when someone loses interest.

I want two Sinns, a shiny blue LE and a blasted one. I also want a damasko. And yes I know that doesn't help.

I agree, a great watch indeed. I only owned mine for a couple weeks before gifting it to a friend, but it was a great little watch while I had it.SCM64 wrote:I realize this is not exactly news..but since you asked.![]()
This has just about ruined collecting for me. Hardly a need for anything else, zero issues, great on ZULU, leather or bracelet (not an option on Damasko still??).
And it looks like the day I bought it, even with it being my constant travel companion all around the country. The bracelet is the main go to for me, followed by the occasional ZULU.
The diapal is sweet, but I love the yellow GMT hand. Lusted for it when I saw it, took a few years to get it, still smitten.![]()
Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?
Re: Damasko and Sinn
I really appreciate the responses....I've always wanted a 757 Diapal or a 757 UTC like Steven's...I'm just not digging the price...That being said, I've always wanted to try a Damasko ( DA46, or DK11), but the Customer Service concerns me....

Any interest in used? Sinn's are pretty cheap used, and the teg cases stand up to use well.

Good plan. I am not so sure about these German brands. They might just be a passing fad.jimyritz wrote:========JP Chestnut wrote:Any interest in used? Sinn's are pretty cheap used, and the teg cases stand up to use well.

No kidding. And after a few years of use they look like turds.
This is unfortunately on its way to me from Germany. May just make it a DWC giveaway.
