Are all of these ref. 166.0324? I've seen date and no-date versions, as well as "big triangle" variations. Spent a couple hours researching these on WUS earlier this week, and there doesn't seem to be that much info out there.

Big Triangle is vintage. Omega never reproduced that dial. Watch out for the stubbies. No date, small triangle dials are discontinued. Only dial available right now is the date dial. 166.0324 is the replacement case for an original date model.

I opted for a Watchco because I wanted essentially a new watch and I didn't want to wade through the minefield of fakes and frankens out there. Also, when I got mine from them a couple-three years ago, the prices were much lower. They gave me the option of mesh or the original 1162 bracelet. I went for the original. Omega regards these as authentic, and I liken them to buying a beater, and then sending it to Bienne for a complete overhaul. Bienne would pretty much do what Watchco does and uses the same parts. It costs you less to go the Watchco route when you factor in buying the beater.
That being said, I have a watch I don't have to baby.
The Sales Corner ad that Roar posted is a good deal for anyone looking for one of these. I also seem to recall that he bought one from Watchco a few years ago.

So are the date versions as desirable as the no-date versions? Thanks for answering all my newbish questions.

I believe buyers prefer no-date.
