I'm pretty stoked for the upcoming strap code offerings. They've had possession of the turdle for awhile so there's no reason why this shouldn't be a home run in the fit dept.

So should I sell my 777 before or after I get the sapphire installed? It's just sitting here

After.

May sing enough to keep it and if not you can get at least half your costs back.

Btw, anyone else notice the non-PADI BLNR and Coke are available on watches88?

I'm temped to get the Pepsi 779, swap bezels with my existing blue 773, while having two dome crystals installed.

One would be blue on blue-pepsi and the other would be black dial on blue bezel. Two great looks.

My 773 is perfect but this would negate any worry for a potentially misaligned chapter ring on a 779 if I were to do this. Hmmm

Pardon my ignorance (I'm a dumbass) but what do you mean when you say BLNR and Coke? I thought they were the same thing?

P.S. BLNR = BLue aNd Red, correct?

Harold's work. Quoted me $45 for the bead blast and $150 for DLC.

Never had either mod done but I'm assuming that pricing is in the ballpark.

Really love the look but that's a lot of coin to invest in this watch. Will consider it down the line if this one stays.
Cheapest I have ever seen for dlc was $500 for the watch head.

Always thought this was mostly a sub $250 service

I've got a feeling we'll be seeing that from Seiko in the next year or two.

Was there ever an orange dial 6309? That's what I really want.

Not the cushion case (6309-7040). They made the slim case (6309-729?) with an orange dial.

A part of me likes the seconds hand more than the stock one but Jeff had the right idea when he modded his. You would think Seiko would've had a gold lollipop somewhere in their more eccentric line up

I'm not endorsing this mod, but check out the second hand. It's probably aftermarket, but the hand exists. No idea where it came from, but it might be worth contacting Duarte or Harold and see if they sell a similar hand? It really surprises me that Seiko hasn't used a gold lollipop hand.

All this picture does is make me wish they'd hurry up and make a 6105 re-issue with red stoplight seconds, beveled hands, square plots, and domed crystal.
