I'm surprised. I'd wear a watch that has Comex, U.S. Diver's Co., etc. on the dial without thinking twice.

This is the one model #? I'd be flipping my Turdle for, 6105 looks even more pregnant than 6309

62MAS is too small for their current lineup. They are going away from sub-40mm watches.

Well they could blow it up, no reason to make it for Jason only :)

I've got too many PADI certification to wear that. And I don't even that _that_ many...

Note putting "Put Another Dollar In" certification agency advertising on my wrist. :)

I'm certified by NAUI, but would still wear that one. Only thing I don't like are the red markings on the chapter ring.

They already did a supersized version in the Sumo case. Supersized classics never look quite right to me. That's why the 6105 makes more sense, the original was big enough for today so it doesn't need to be blown up. I'd definitely buy a modern 6105 but not a blown up 6217.

I'd put my money on the asymmetric version since it's the better known of the two.

That would just make it a knockoff of the Dagaz Typhoon. Or was it the Smiths PRS-68?

True, it's already been done, but I'd much rather have a Seiko re-issue. I'd personally be interested in either 6105 variant.

Art, dude. You need to take a course in vintage Seiko. That's a 62mas.

Are the new ones that much larger than the old ones? Or is the perspective of the shot?

The lugs are slightly longer. I think it wears very much like the original.

You don't like the 6105? Like the Turdle, the original was 44mm, so the re-issue would be sized right for today without messing with the original proportions. That's my only point, and I do realize I'm anal about it.

Seiko made this LE Sumo as kind of a homage to the 6217, and while I think it looks ok as a stand alone watch, it's just not a good 6217 homage. But as always, that's just my own, very biased opinion.

I remember that one, it looked great, but I didn't agree with a Sumo for 1000 bucks idea ;)

I considered one too, but really the Sumo's too big for me with the almost 53mm LTL.

Plus a big case with 20mm lugs - shoot that designer in the eye
