Upcoming 39mm Attempt
Recently picked up my second Raven Trekker.
In the past, I've found 40mm divers too small, but the Trekkers seem to work well for me.
Steve has opted to downsize his latest version Trekkers to 39mm.
I had resisted the urge to buy one until the release of the blue dial currently available for pre-order.
Offered in 8 versions, I opted for the one shown below.
A reasonable return policy makes the decision easier.

Nice. Noticed that too. Always liked that watch, but the 47.5 L2L is still pushing it for me.

Really don’t need another watch but this new blue one has been tempting me badly.
I like the thinner midcase with the lower edge bevel like the newer BB cases have. 39 scares me a little but it looks so good

Still too large? What size watch do you normally wear?BlueSky wrote:Nice. Noticed that too. Always liked that watch, but the 47.5 L2L is still pushing it for me.

Re: Upcoming 39mm Attempt
I have quite a few 42s, and that's not so much the issue. My daily watch is 42, but has an L2L of 46. That 46 number is why and the 48s and above never get worn.tattoo chef wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 7:07 pmStill too large? What size watch do you normally wear?BlueSky wrote:Nice. Noticed that too. This looks dimensionally very similar to a 5 digit Rolex or a BB58.... just a little thicker.

Trekker is my favorite Raven design.
If I could change anything, I'd reduce the size of the crown.

Matt - that is actually really cool... My wrist is only 7" but I've found that because it is flat, I can wear anything from 37-46 without it looking ridiculous (or maybe it does look terrible, but I just don't care lol... ). 39 should be just fine with that longer lug-to-lug mentioned. Plus, sounds like Brice will buy it from you if it's a total fail

Really looks gorgeous Matt, and honestly does look bigger than
39mm sir ! Guess the look, and shape of the case has to do
with it, but it is beautiful really. Hey, and the strap kicks
things up as well with it’s design, along with size too. Honestly
is the type of watch I don’t think you can get tired of. I mean
it is easy on the eyes, and easy to read, and timeless.
Even though it is brand new, and modern at the same time !
Honestly love watches like this sir. They are classic, but not
cookie cutter, and stand out in the crowd. A GIANT congrats
there 2 U !!!

Thanks, Tom.
Re: Upcoming 39mm Attempt
It's going to take him ages to QC all those bezel inserts!
Re: Upcoming 39mm Attempt
Pretty clear this will wear like a dream on the wrist.

Re: Upcoming 39mm Attempt
Trekker arrived today; trying to decide if the smaller size will work.
The blue dial and bezel with yellow hand is stunning in person; Steve nailed the colors.
When I initially wore the first Trekker it felt small, but that feeling did not last long.
I have to decide over the next few days to keep the watch or return it.
I had planned to move the watch onto a strap; any thoughts if it would appear bigger/smaller off the bracelet?

Re: Upcoming 39mm Attempt
Congrats. I love the blue, been wanting to grab one. Was worried about the size too.
I’d keep it on bracelet, strap will make it seem even smaller and your risk to scratch it don’t do that to yourself if you may sell it soon

Re: Upcoming 39mm Attempt
Decided to send it back; going to wear too small.
Too bad, colors are perfect.

Re: Upcoming 39mm Attempt
Size is interesting. I wore a Speedy Pro daily for a couple of years before switching to a BB58 for 18 months and now I alternate between a U50 and a 16600. When I strap on the Speedy it now feels huge on my wrist, despite being a relatively modestly sized sports watch. The BB58 seemed to recalibrate my perceptions a bit. Assume the Trekker will have a similar effect.mattcantwin wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 1:02 pmWhen I initially wore the first Trekker it felt small, but that feeling did not last long.

Re: Upcoming 39mm Attempt
I have a 7.5 inch wrist and find that most 38 or 39mm watches wear fine, especially vintage. Guess it's a matter of personal taste though.
