“Vintage” Micro
Re: “Vintage” Micro
I was on board in the early start up days of Micros. I did a lot of photography for some of the brands. Many have come and gone out of my collection. I wish I still had a few of them.
- Kenzo
- Kremke
- Orsa
- Dwatch
- Zinex
- Korsbek
- Halios (early start up)
I'll see if I can dig up some old photos out of my archives.
EDIT: I didn't realize this was an old thread.

I should have never sold my Victorinox 500LE. Talk about punching above your weight!

Dude was recently selling a beat up version for $750
I offered him 6 bills (more that I think it’s worth by a lot) and he basically called me an asshole for the lowball offer.
Really surprised it didn’t sell

I miss these:

The SAS was probably too big, but still. Had a bronze Helberg with a green dial, also too big but really cool watch.

you should have been grandfathered in to own it next considering how many you have owned.

Re: “Vintage” Micro
To me, the 'grandfather' of all micro brands is Ken Sato aka Ken Trading, who was a big collector of early dive watches (especially Rolex and Panerai) and wanted to make high quality versions at a non-astronomical price. His RXW, Pro-Lex, and Rockx brands all produced watches with incredibly good fit and finish. Some of the designs he chose were odd, but the quality was always there.
The shame of it is that they were so good that they spawned some of the first chinese fakes, making it very hard to know which is which.
For example, even though they are supposed to be really well made, all of the Pro-Lex Daytonas are chinese as Sato never made this model!
This was his tribute to the first Rolex 5514 deep divers, featuring the COMEX branding and oddly, a Milgauss sweep. At the time, it was said that it featured a Faraday cage that withstood up to 1000 gauss...The shame of it is that they were so good that they spawned some of the first chinese fakes, making it very hard to know which is which.
