Crafter Blue's Hyperion Ocean 600m

Post by AtomicTom » Wed Jun 26, 2019 10:22 am

Not sure if everybody has had time to see this new one in the works from
Crafter Blue. Just seeing it.

Their Hyperion Ocean 600m looks to be getting it's start on Kickstarter,
and will come in a choice of a steel or a PVD-coated steel bezel version.
Having details like a 45mm stainless steel case, 600m WR, sapphire
crystals, a helium relief valve, unidirectional rotating bezel, black dials
with luminous hands, and markers, and light blue accents, Sellita SW200
automatic within soft iron casing, and rubber straps also.

Some pictures guys...

I know it's a mashup of Seiko and Panerai, but I don't hate it. I'm not buying it though.

So a Panko, then. I do like it, case is unusual without looking like it's trying too hard. It looks very purposeful. Bezel I think could do with some colour. Blue accents remind me of Obris Morgan. Case back though is interesting and again, functional with the iron core

Someone else produced this exact watch with a different name. Anyone remember who it was?

It was Undive and Crafter Blue had helped them, but Undive had some difficulties (the info is vague) but now Crafter Blue rebranded it and has the rights to produce it.

That’s the one. Perhaps they had trouble because the name Undive is terrible.

i like this one more every time i see it.
but, then again, perhaps there is some subliminal linkage from the image of the watch to the imagery in the promo video   :excited:

I reviewed the original Undive. My review is a little skewed because at the time the company was already going under.
I will have the new version sent for review, and from what I have seen of Crafter Blue, it will be a little easier to give a better review as they seem to be a company with no plans of packing up shop in the middle of the night and disappearing.

Always bugs me when the minute hand being an arbitrary length that doesn't align with anything.

Oh man Erik, that is what I was thinking too ! Kind of feels like it
could be the next generation right?! ..Other than the price, it seemed
really nice i thought, and by the way Chris, and Don, thanks so much
for the insight on these !! ..Thought they did look like another watch.

Thanks very much to everybody just for looking honestly !

I'm the exact opposite. I actually think the seconds hand is great. I'd make a blue stitched Sailcloth to match.

Looks like he achieved the goal of using the same dial for two vastly different designs?

Well it definitely pays proper homage to most Seikos.
